Would not recommend – sold a used-looking pillow and refused return
I picked up a pillow in-store from Sleepdoctor. When I got it home it looked and felt used/old, not new. I also realised it wouldn’t match my mattress properly.
I went back and told them it didn’t suit and asked to return it, but they refused to take it back.
I paid for a new product and expected basic customer service. Instead I got something that appeared used and no option to return it after collecting it myself. Very disappointed with how this was handled.

Hi! We’re sorry to hear about your experience. However, it sounds like you may have reached the wrong company. While Sleep Doctor offers CPAP equipment and other sleep-related products, we don’t operate a physical retail store. You may be thinking of a different mattress or bedding company with a similar name, as we are not affiliated with them. We hope you’re able to connect with the correct business to resolve this!

Not a legitimate sleep study - it is a CPAP script factory
Took over 5 weeks from order to completion. Had to contact support to get the result review scheduled. Initial consultation was a joke. The person did not even know I received the device weeks ago and used it already. They would only allow me to schedule the initial 5 mins consult 3 weeks in advance.
They're only interested in selling you a CPAP, not helping with anything other than a breathing disorder. The name "Sleep Doctor" should be changed to "CPAP dealer". I scored high for insomnia and very mild apnea and was told to go talk with a sleep specialist. So they don't even consider themselves sleep specialists...
The results are AI generated. Half of it is just telling you data instead of what to do to mitigate the issue. The results are read back to you by a regular person who has no medical qualifications.
Strongly reconsider using this company for a sleep "study" unless you are already confident you have apnea as this would be an easy route for a script. Let's be honest, this is a CPAP script factory. If you suspect any other sleeping conditions exist, put your $200 towards a real in-lab study with a real specialist.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We’d like to clarify that all sleep study results are interpreted by a board-certified sleep physician not Ai, and our consultations are conducted by licensed respiratory therapists who are experienced in their field and trained to explain results and discuss next steps. Our clinical team includes licensed respiratory therapists, sleep technologists, and other experienced professionals who work directly with patients to help identify sleep disorders, explain results, explore treatment options, and support their ongoing sleep health. We understand how important timely communication and clear guidance are, and we’re sorry to hear you experienced delays and felt unsupported throughout the process. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention, as your feedback helps us continue improving the patient experience.

SCAM: DO NOT BUY!
Title: Good products, but they won't give you usable insurance paperwork
I've bought my CPAP machine, home sleep study, and nearly a year of supplies from Sleep Doctor, totaling more than $2,500 across 24 orders. Their website says they'll give you a "superbill" to submit to insurance for reimbursement. In practice, they sent retail invoices that my insurer said were missing required information: the diagnosis code, my prescribing doctor's NPI, and the place of service code. I asked them to add these and gave my written authorization as the patient. Support refused, citing HIPAA, even though HIPAA doesn't stop a company from giving a patient his own information when he asks for it.
Over several weeks, support closed my ticket, told me to fill out the insurance claim form myself, and never got it to anyone who could fix it. The products are fine, but if you plan to seek insurance reimbursement, don't count on Sleep Doctor for the paperwork. Buy from a supplier that bills insurance directly or will confirm in writing that it provides a complete superbill with diagnosis codes and provider NPIs. I've escalated this formally, and I'll update this review if they make it right.
UPDATE: sleep doctor finally provided a superbill... then cancelled my subscription without my consent in retaliation to this review. UNPROFESSIONAL!

Hi John! Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you were frustrated with your experience. Sleep Doctor is a cash-pay, out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance or submit insurance claims on behalf of patients. Our standard process provides patients with the invoices and documentation available through our services, which they may submit to their insurance provider for consideration. Insurance companies determine what documentation they require and whether reimbursement will be provided. While our team is always happy to assist and provide the documentation available through our standard process, there are limitations to what we are able to provide. Those limitations were communicated throughout the process, and we do not state on our website or in our communications that we complete or provide insurance-specific documentation beyond the scope of our services. We understand that this process can be frustrating, but we have been clear about these limitations from the beginning. For more information about insurance reimbursement, please visit our website: https://sleepdoctor.com/pages/insurance-reimbursement-lp .While we wish you had a better experience with us, we hope this helps clarify our process, and we wish you the best of luck on your journey.

They could not complete my test since I…
They could not complete my test since I only sleep 5-6 hours a night. Needed more data. But that's not the issue!! They continually harassing me with emails and texts messages asking or reviews. I have requested the stop many, many times, more than a dozen in fact and they continue to harass me. I can't get them to stop.
Response from Sleep DoctorSep 2, 2026
Hi Dale, We’re very sorry that the Home Sleep Test did not work with your typical sleep schedule. The test does require a minimum amount of sleep time in order to collect enough data to provide reliable results, and unfortunately, it sounds like it wasn’t a good fit in this situation. More importantly, we sincerely apologize for the repeated emails and text messages you continued receiving after requesting to be removed. We understand how frustrating that must have been. Our records show that you have already spoken with our office and that your contact information has been removed from receiving further updates and communications from us. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this caused, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We wish you all the best and hope you’re able to find a testing option that works better with your sleep schedule.

Their website is misleading
Their website is misleading. It makes you believe that they work on mostly any sleep problem. After I took a test, they told me during consultation that they pretty much work on sleep apnea only and suggested that I need to take in-lab sleep test. The quality of the analysis of my sleep was questionable at best as well. What a waste of time. Shameful.
On a positive side, the person I spoke with was very polite.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We do want to gently clarify a few points, as the characterization of our services is not accurate. Our website offers a range of sleep-related solutions and resources, including sleep coaching programs, CPAP equipment, educational content, bedding and comfort products, and digital tools designed to support overall sleep health. We do not claim to diagnose or guarantee outcomes for any condition. Regarding the home sleep test, it is manufactured by ZOLL Itamar, is FDA-cleared specifically for the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea, which is its intended clinical use. Our role is to provide access to this testing, ensure appropriate clinical oversight, and connect patients with licensed providers who interpret results and guide next steps when sleep apnea is suspected. In some cases, depending on other or clinical factors, an in-lab sleep study may still be recommended when a broader or more comprehensive assessment is needed. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Will spend over two weeks not…
Will spend over two weeks not responding to concerns if an order is placed. They just want money and then you dont matter as a customer.
You can tell by other reviews that there's a pattern here. It's a terrible unprofessional sales service, from my experience with them they should not be trusted with medical care.
*edit: company is acting like this must be a fake review because I didnt give them details to reach out. I wanted to keep my details private after seeing how they do business.
I sent multiple emails to Sleep Doctor for a refund and was still ignored about a month after my order.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We previously reached out requesting additional information because we were unable to locate your account based on the details provided. After further review, we still have not been able to identify any customer record with the email address, or interaction matching the information associated with this review.
While we appreciate all feedback and continuously look for ways to improve our service, we do not believe the experience described reflects an interaction with our company based on the information available to us. As such, we are unable to verify the claims regarding response times, order history, or customer service interactions.
If this review was intended for Sleep Doctor and you would like us to investigate further, we would be happy to do so. Please contact us directly with your order number or the email address used for your purchase so we can review the matter thoroughly.
We are committed to assisting our customers and resolving concerns whenever we are given the opportunity to do so.

They don't care, just trying to profit as much as possible
Flat out, just don't use this company. It's all for profit system with no real customer support. There's cheaper and better places to get sleep testing and cpap equipment. Everything they do is restrictive such as not giving scripts out.
Response from Sleep DoctorApr 30, 2026
Hi Steven! We’re truly very sorry for your experience and completely understand how frustrating this situation has been. Please know that our team has been actively communicating with you and genuinely trying to help get everything resolved as quickly as possible. From what we can see, the delay happened because the order was placed separately from your existing records, and unfortunately our system does not automatically recognize and connect those records together on the backend right away. We absolutely understand how confusing and inconvenient that can be, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration it caused.
As requested, we re-sent your records again this week. We also show that your records, including your prescription, were originally sent to you back in September following your initial consultation with our team . We completely understand how emails and attachments like these can sometimes get lost in the shuffle, which is why we were more than happy to send everything over again for you. At this time, we are just pending your reply confirming your primary email address so we can work to properly connect everything moving forward and help prevent this issue from happening again. We’re truly sorry for the experience and appreciate your patience while we continue working to assist you.

DON’T SPEND THOUSANDS LIKE I DID
I SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON MACHINE AND EQUIPMENT THAT I CANNOT USE WORK WITH SOMEONE LOCALLY . They already admitted in an email that I haven’t turned my machine on because I can’t use. !!
THEY SAID THEY’VE GONE ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP ME WELL YOU SHOULD WHEN SOMEONE IS SPENDING THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY ! They are ignoring my request for return of the UNUSED machine.. I’ve already paid out $300 for various masks and tubes that do not work and are flimsy..THE MASKS COLLAPSE ALLOWING AIR TO ESCAPE SO YOU CANNOT USE THE EQUIPMENT. FIND SOMEONE LOCAL.!
They are also really hard to work with when you have a problem with your machine they control the adjustments.
I would not work with an online sleep specialist ever again.
THE FACT THAT THIS ORGANIZATION ADMITTED IN AN EMAIL THAT I HAVE NOT USED THE EQUIPMENT AND THEN THEY PUT A REVIEW BELOW, SAYING THAT THEY DON’T RETURN MEDICAL EQUIPMENT IS BALONEY. I’ll say it again.
WORK WITH SOMEONE LOCAL BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT DO THIS TO YOU AFTER YOU’VE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!
I have spent thousands of dollars and I can’t use THEIR machine because I can’t find a mask that works for a side sleeper!!
Work with someone local!!

Hi, We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and understand your frustration. However, we do want to clarify that we have made multiple attempts to assist and have asked for additional details regarding the specific issues you’re experiencing. Unfortunately, without that information, we’re unable to properly troubleshoot or resolve the concerns raised.
As part of our efforts to support you, we’ve already gone beyond our standard policy by offering an exchange on a previously used machine, which is typically non-returnable. We also provided a refund for the price difference between devices as a courtesy to help find a workable solution. At this time, we are unable to provide additional exceptions outside of our return policy.
Regarding your concerns with mask quality, the products we provide are sourced directly from leading manufacturers such as ResMed, Fisher & Paykel, and Philips, and we are an authorized dealer. While we understand your feedback, these are not Sleep Doctor–manufactured items, and all products meet the manufacturers’ quality standards. Mask fit and comfort can vary by individual, which is why we’ve offered multiple options and continued support. The masks provided are universal to the machine, so connectivity should not be an issue.
In terms of machine settings, these are prescribed and managed by a licensed provider based on clinical needs. If your concern is related to pressure or therapy settings, we are absolutely able to assist and facilitate adjustments remotely—we just need more specific information to do so.
We also want to note that effective troubleshooting depends on consistent use of the equipment along with clear feedback on what is not working. Without that, it becomes difficult to accurately identify or resolve the issue.
While we understand that adjusting to therapy can take time, our primary concern remains on your health. Consistent therapy can make a meaningful difference in overall well-being, including energy levels, mood, and long-term health. We remain committed to supporting you where possible and would welcome the opportunity to continue working toward a solution.
