This unit is being used by an 97 yr old person with vision and hearing issues. She is finding it difficult to hear the responses from the call center. Responders speak too fast and the user has difficulty understanding the person answering. She has difficulty hearing responses if she is in the next room. Responders should be instructed to speak slowly and distinctly so the elderly would be able to understand them better. I was surprised that the unit volume was not louder. I had used this service for another person a year ago and that unit seemed to be louder. However, I dont believe a service from another company would be any better. Anyone who deals with the elderly needs to be aware to speak SLOWLY and DISTINCTLY. The elderly get these alert systems because they have declined ambulatory, vision and hearing issues and need to be able to have a comfort level that responders will communicate adequately and with patience to give them the assistance they need and not be calling emergency personnel because the user could not understand what the call center was asking. Response from Senior Safety was quick and positive. Changed my review stars, hope all works out for the better.
