Opened a retirement account with my employer. Their website is ridiculously unusable. Can't modify or make any changes to my account without calling customer service reps, and everytime I navigate to other pages it logs me out and sends me to a unavailable page. Charles Schwab sucks.

I had short calls and short puts at the same strike on the same stock. On the day of expiration, the stock price was near the strike. I did not know which side of the strike the stock would close at so I put a limit order to close the short calls and was waiting and watching to see where the stock price would go. Then out of nowhere, my orders were canceled and replaced by market orders to close out both sides of the options. This was less than 10 minutes to close. I got a terrible execution prices on both sides and had they not canceled my order to close, it would have executed. They knew I was logged in because they saw I placed an order, the least they could have done was texted or called me. They costed me about $1600. I complained but they wouldn't do crap to help me. They said it was their right to trade anyone's account and have NO OBLIGATION to ensure a fair trade price. They are scum.

Twice in the last week I have sold stock that I owned with Charles Schwab. In both cases, the order was placed at or just after 4pm in the afternoon. In both cases, the order was not executed until the next day. In once case, the order was executed at 9:31am at a price over 2.00 less than what it was the previous afternoon. But in the second case, the stock was not sold until the next day also at an amount significantly less than when I placed the order. These were not limit orders, but market orders.. Charles Schwab is extremely slow, or is getting some financial incentive for delaying orders that are not in someones best interests. It just has the feel of being rigged. I am used to Fidelity where your stock prices are done fairly instantaneously. In another case I put a limit order on a stock to buy. By the time Schwab bought, the price was way above the limit that I set. Schwab may be ok for buy and hold forever, but don't ever expect Schwab to do anything at the time that you request it. They are inept or corrupt.

Their StreetSmart online trading platform just sucks! Access is always going in and out, it tells me repeatedly I am not online although all other apps/websites including Merrill are working fine. Today, I got a -$125 Birthday “present” when I was in the middle of an option trade, was trying to buy a May call spread and when it came back I didn’t notice it had defaulted back to the April spread so I overpaid, with the fill I had an instant $125 loss on a $1000 trade. Sure - my bad.

Appalling website. Appalling performance of basic tasks. Unable to complete a wire transfer without a phone call and getting a pdf of details. Website doesn't even have all the form fields. Stuck in the 90s, in a bad way. In the words of the hitchhikers guide, "They'll be the first with their backs against the wall when the revolution comes."

I have banked with Schwab for more than 30 years. Over the decades, I have enjoyed wonderful customer service. But, all of that has changed. I think the problems started 2-4 months ago. Today, it is real PAIN to get in touch with a representative. And once you do, the results are pretty bad. They force you to wait on hold for 30 minutes or even longer. Even the online chat has 30-35 minute wait time. Also, simple things like IRA transfer used to take 2-3 days. Now it is 2-4 weeks. Schwab, PLEASE implement a call-back option or something. People can't wait on hold or sit in front of their phone for a half hour waiting to get a representative. Very disappointing. I hope Schwab fixes their customer support soon.

Tried beginning of last week to take out some of my IRA. I was told it should be in my savings account beginning of this week. Surprisingly it is not there. I am very disappointed that USAA turned it over to Schwab. I know I would have my money by now.
