Wanting to support a small business and get a quality product for a gift, Sand Art at Home was chosen. More money was spent in order to achieve these goals versus purchasing the sand art I found locally and online. Minus 1 star: The actual round sand art piece is a rubber rimmed frame. The bottom, unfortunately, is a molded plastic. The website is misleading and not transparent. There is not any information on what materials are being used to make the product (states, "made with premium materials"). We try to minimize our plastic consumption. If I had known the item would be made with 100% plastic then I would not of purchased it. For the premium price I was expecting the item to be made with glass, metal, wood, etc. Minus 2 stars: The item also does not note where the item is shipped from or where the company is located. The item took longer than expected to arrive and the tracking was very nondescript(i.e. leaving warehouse, arriving at airport, cleared customs with no indication of location). It was a shock to see that the item was making its way through customs. Customs where? Airport where? No clue. The tracking had zero information other than that. If I had known that the item was coming from another country I would not of ordered it in order to have a timely delivery. Diving into the company I cannot come up with any location other than another review saying they made a return to Spain. The items were packaged in a plastic envelope(I can see how the larger items would get damaged) and the two boxes were taped together. TAPED. Ripping the tape off destroys the boxes that were supposed to be gifted. All together not the best experience from a retailer. Disappointing considering the actual sand portion is beautiful. If I had taken some time to think and research more then I would not of purchased from this retailer.

We’ll take your feedback into account to make our materials more explicitly stated on the product pages. On the shipping process, we regret that the tracking information was not clear. While it is designed to show real-time updates, it appears the information may not have been updated accurately. We encourage our customers to contact us with any concerns, and we are always happy to assist in providing clarity about an order’s location. Your feedback will be used to work on improving our tracking process. We understand that the packaging caused disappointment as well, and we will review how we can improve the presentation and sturdiness of our gift-ready boxes in transit. I don’t know how to put into words how I feel about this company. They bent over backwards to get my order done and sent to Germany in a matter of days!!! My problem, their products are beautiful (I have 3 in my home/office) so me trying to decide drove me crazy. But with Emma’s help and advice and patience, I am sure he will love it!
