I had an emergency come up and unfortunately saw there was a $99 charge to cancel my appointment in less than 24 hours. Huge turn off from the experience.

I've been trying to get a therapist through Rula since February, since Kaiser doesn't prioritize mental health services and is outsourcing to anyone, anywhere to take the burden off their hands. The first therapist I chose had one session with me and cancelled the next one because she was "moving". This is a remote job, but okay... whatever. The second therapist I chose got a back injury after the second session and cancelled the next three until I gave up waiting for her. Listen, for those of us who have real mental disorders recounting horrible trauma is not easy for us. If you're not ready to do the job don't say you're qualified to work with ptsd, or sexual abuse, or personality disorders. Just don't put it on your profile to flex. Going through a session or two just to get abandoned is gut wrenching, and it happens a lot more than you would expect. My third therapist is doing great so far, but I don't know if it was worth the waste of time. Are these folks being seriously vetted at all for what they claim to be able to treat on their profile? Do they have demonstrated experience in that area? Maybe making a site for therapists to side-hustle psych advice isn't such a great idea.

I’ve had countless problems with Rula since I started using it a year ago. I’ve had issues with getting messages from therapists and scheduling. I’ve had therapists not show up to appointments and ones that are unable to access their portal during our appointment. I could go on about the problems.. I currently really enjoy the therapist I have, but have had problems with messages not being delivered. I would expect a therapy site to be pretty seamless and it is not the case with rula. 2 stars because it’s free with my insurance and viewing “available” therapists is pretty easy. It’s also fairly easy to access your video appointments which is an improvement they have made.

I think that your administrators or software or something leave(s) a LOT to be desired. The therapist I am working with is great - but this last week my session was cancelled NOT by me and NOT by him but by someone at RULA who was not paying attention. I had organized my afternoon (for the FOURTH time) around a scheduled appointment - only to find that it didn't exist. I hope that, moving forward, Rula FACILITATES my access to therapy rather than making it more difficult.

Unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience with my therapist. It seems like she didn’t understand me and sometimes she makes me mad. She couldn’t help me at all.

So far I am NOT having a good experience. I don't know where you guys get your therapists from but the last two I've worked with seem very unqualified. Like I'm talking to a friend or my mom NOT an expert in their field. I am EXHAUSTED of this hunt. It's also exceptionally annoying that you guys allow the therapists to list every "specialty" so that they'll get clients. I'm CHRONICALLY ILL and every time I have used the search to try and find someone who specializes in working with the chronically ill it just brings up the whole list of therapists. They should NOT be allowed to list every specialty. They need to list their NICHES and who they work the most with so we can make an informed decision if that person will actually be good for us!! You are causing me to waste hours of my time having to vet and interview every therapist I meet with bc you guys allow them to list the broad range of stuff they are educated on NOT specialize in. These things are entirely different licenses you have to take courses for and they all say they do it. If they AREN'T certified or have the proper education for it then they shouldn't be allowed to list that they work with that.

Wasn't very sensitive to my experience. Told me he didn't care what happened when I explained why I was cancelling my appointment with my therapist who made me upset due to her lack of effort/care. So that was two people who didn't care about my mental health in one day. Made me feel awful!

The original therapist I selected wasn’t available even though he was listed as available and my appointment was confirmed. Then I chose another one who was listed and scheduled an appointment with him and was told he was not accepting new patients. The therapist I ended up with has changed appointment times of previously scheduled appointments several times now and it is becoming a hassle. I am disappointed in the lack of professionalism with keeping Therapist List updated and with therapist keeping scheduled appointments (as scheduled by the patient).
