the therapist that i was able to find seems to be very good and my wife and i are eager to continue working with him. however the website itself is not very user friendly and there is a huge disconnect between the Rula staff and the provider. Rula auto schedules appointments without being asked and they often differ from what is previously scheduled with the therapist. we were told last time that it happened that there would be no more auto appointments. well it happened again and the customer service agent that i got when i called insisted on arguing over who made the appointments rather than helping me fix the issue. i ended up having to dispute the charges on my credit card.

Horrible experience so far
Horrible experience so far, the website is inconvenient to log in, you have to try and log in then they send you an email to log in, stupid. Then the appointments are never up to date. Example I had an appointment yesterday but when I checked the website in Wednesday I had none, and customer service sucks don’t waste your time with foreign call centers. And don’t work with a company who you are just a number to, they don’t care, JUST LOOK AT ALL THE AUTOMATED ANSWERS ON HERE FROM THEM!

Insurance problems
I wish I could give it a zero.
They have a system in place to automatically run your insurance however it’s incorrect. I have called my insurance several times to confirm I do not ow a deductible. When calling them back they say they will expedite my issue to billing with an email and say there is no way to call them.
I’ve waited initially a week the first time to hear back. Then I’ve been calling them after they give me a 24-48 hour wait to hear back. I’m doing everYthing they ask and I even gave a reference number from my insurance.
They are still unable to help me
I’ve been calling since Monday this is the 2nd week of calling them back after every wait time I’ve been given it’s now Thursday. How is this ethical for a patient who needs mental health therapy?
My medical insurance should not be an issue when I’m fully covered. Their auto emails of the $300 deduction should be reported as fraud if they can not fix this right away and patients need therapy right away. This is not ok.

Not a compassionate therapist.
My son had been receiving therapy from Mr. Wong through an online platform. Unfortunately, after eight months of sessions, it became evident that the therapy had been ineffective. Mr. Wong completely misjudged my son's progress, even suggesting a break from therapy because he believed my son was improving, when in reality, he was struggling with suicidal thoughts.
When I reached out to Mr. Wong to inform him of the situation, his response was disheartening. He simply provided me with a suicide emergency hotline number and mentioned discussing the issue in the next appointment, which was three days away from the crisis. When I decided to discontinue the therapy sessions, his only concern was whether I was canceling the service, showing a complete lack of empathy or interest in my son's well-being.
This experience has led me to believe that such therapy services are more concerned with business than with the individuals they are meant to help. Mr. Wong's failure to accurately assess my son's condition and his indifferent response highlight the shortcomings of these services. It's clear to me now that finding a dedicated and compassionate therapist is essential for the well-being of a child. Sadly, my son is now worse off than when he started therapy with Mr. Wong, a fact that defies any logical explanation.
March 26- adding to my review: I would like to include in my review that upon expressing my concerns to Rula regarding an incident, they inquired about my desired course of action. Although I only requested reimbursement for the last therapy session, they accused me of fraudulent intent. My primary concern is the well-being of my son. After voicing my dissatisfaction, I decided to disengage and requested no further contact. It's essential to consider the quality of service provided for your child. Rula's apparent focus solely on financial matters is concerning. Conduct thorough research, as a service that lacks empathy towards its clients is unlikely to prioritize the welfare of the therapists they employ.

Takes your money without consent
They force you to input your payment information AND AUTO DEDUCT MISSED APPOINTMENT FEES. There is no way to prevent this, so if you make a mistake, they have no problem destroying your budget for the month. There is no option to pay the amount when it best suits you. These crooks should be ashamed for making people want to kill themselves even more.
I was setup with Rula through Kaiser. So Kaiser is forcing its clients to pay admin fees that they should cover. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Confirms coverage AFTER you schedule
This review is about the Company. Not about use of app or any therapist.
I wanted to know how much insurance would cover BEFORE I schedule an appointment. Why make an appointment if insurance will not cover? BE CAREFUL! If they are OUT OF NETWORK (which they were for me AFTER I called my insurance company myself - they don't check for you like they say they do), you have to cover their full cost and you *may have to submit the claim yourself (*I do not know for sure because I am not signing up. If this is the case, you'll have to remember to submit a claim to your insurance. One more thing to do).
Lastly, I tried to delete my account. Not an option on the website. Rula has my Personal Identifiable Information (PII). I've spent too much time on this company.
