I am a therapist at Rula and have been for over a year. Rula is very unprofessional and really don't know what they are doing. Recently information about my was disseminated to quality assurance and the information was completely inaccurate. I had not seen some of the clients since summer and was accused of needing to write current notes on them. I researched the problem and found that those clients were seeing other therapists and I was not even the one seeing them. They blocked my account and would not give me any new clients over this misinformation. This is only one problem I've had in many. They say that someone will address the issue and contact you within 48 hrs and to date I have never heard from anyone about any issue I have had. I make the company look pretty incompetent when the therapist has to do QUALITY ASSURANCE job by researching and verifying misinformation. Yes pretty incompetent. I would caution and therapist not to get involved with Rula. I would caution persons looking for therapy to contact their local therapeutic practitioners in their area as many do operate on online platforms. This way they are local and if you have a problem they are available to speak with when you have a problem. I have tried alma and headway as well and these platforms were even worse. Sorry to inform all of you but I want therapist and clients to get the best care they can. Rula headway and alma are not the ones.

For 2 separate appointments and therapist I received an email saying zero copay. They canceled 1st appt claiming I failed to turn in paperwork. Yesterday I received exact email but today received a text saying this therapist not covered. After a confusing phone call the rep explained the RULA doesn’t take my insurance period. As I understood her, the email saying zero copay is automatically sent to everyone! Poor practice

I had a meeting with Kristal Bayer on Monday (3/31/2025) at 11 am, but she didn't show up.

I wish I could give them negative rating. They claim to treat people for anxiety but their customer service is so pathetic that it adds to the patient’s anxiety. I have been trying to get my records sent to my DR and it’s been almost a week of trying to contact them without any response. I need these reports urgently so that my DR can prescribe medicines. This is pathetic.

I showed up for four therapy sessions (virtually), but my therapist showed up for one. There was zero communication until I reached out to inquire why my therapist wasn't on the session. I had to do that three times and each time the only resolution I received was "Do you want to be matched with someone else?" With what I'm dealing with, it was hard to believe that my new therapist wasn't there for me. I've asked to cancel all upcoming appointments and that's been done. Now, I don't trust therapists and that's sad.

In just a few short sessions, I have been somehow “diagnosed” with PTSD, heard more of the “therapists” personal problems and why I may have them too instead of her hearing me out. If I have PTSD (who knows I may) I don’t think it should be diagnosed by a therapist especially after one session. I also spent a considerable amount of time being pressured to just take medication. I was promised all sorts of psych. ed. while simultaneously being told I should just go on some random retreat she heard about to heal my trauma. I was constantly being told I do not have ADHD (a clinical psychologist diagnosed me and I also have extensive knowledge of how PTSD and ADHD symptoms may be “similar”- this invalidated all the struggles I’ve gone through because of ADHD) I guess I was to listen to this family marriage therapist, who by the way, spent the first whole session telling me all the community colleges she’s attended). Sitting through the sessions was painful, not only because I brought up trauma I have not yet processed, but because of the amount of long silent pauses- it’s almost as if she was on chat GPT, typed in my issues, then paused again to read follow-up questions from her screen (I am not referring to the check in questioners btw). On top of that, she also told me that to reduce her workload, she just types her reports while she’s in session with clients. This was in response to how poorly I manage my time according to what I told her (well, I do have ADHD) as I mentioned how difficult it is for me to finish a report on top of my other duties unless I work long hours at night. I have a highly demanding job for which I must take work home. This therapist told me that if I can’t handle it, I should “change my environment”- she wanted me to have this advice because her psychiatrist gave it to her (lucky her she gets to see a psychiatrist). So instead of helping me with coping skills for regulating stress and helping me process my trauma, I’m left with the daunting task of seeking another therapist. She kept asking me “remember the deep breathing strategy I taught you?”- I’m sorry but telling me to breathe morning and night the minute before our session was over is not exactly teaching. I won’t stay with RULA- very money hungry company. One of the sessions I showed up to, I was incredibly sick and the therapist was quick to cancel. I was unable to cancel in advance due to their automated “manage my appointment” section not working. Therapist said, “don’t worry we won’t charge you, just your insurance”. Next week, had the same issue but I was even more sick and they tried to charge me for that time. Canceling should be easy! Rula- no support just added stress to your life.

My therapist is good but the platform is terrible. Incorrect appointments, random cancellations and random charges. Support representative even blamed me and the therapist at one point for issues out of our control.

Do not use! If you have a short term disability forms that need to be completed they will direct you to the social security office! Omg these are professionals? Really. Do not waste your time!
