What a great idea: an online service to connect pet owners with pet sitters! However, Rover surveils way too much. I don't like how every picture and text exchange between sitter and owner on texts actually gets registered on the site. This is an invasion of privacy. If the sitter or owner wants to share photos then they should be able to upload them on their own, without the company intruding into their exchange.

Rover has always made it easy to find a trustworthy person to care for my pets when I'm out of town.

My sitter was a homeless meth addict with a criminal record. After I got home I discovered I was robbed of several thousand dollars worth of my possessions and my computer tampered with. I got home from a 12 day trip to England to wake up to a nightmare. I believed Rover's marketing about background checks, yet they failed to find my sitter's criminal record. Rover hides behind the small print when asked to compensate me for their negligence. Fortunately, the police recovered my most valued musical instrument, but it'll take several hundred dollars to replace the rest. I will never use Rover again. A quick look for online reviews shows I'm one of many who made the mistake of trusting Rover. At least my pets were unharmed. It could have been much worse but it should have been much better. I can get a homeless meth addict with a record to steal from me for free. Rover had me pay for that.

Pat is a wonderful pet sitter! She was gentle and kind with Mitzi, spending quality time with her while meeting her basic needs. Pat also kept in touch with me and asked questions when there was a concern. Mitzi was well taken care of throughout my time away. And Pat did everything that I asked her to do.

I've been able to get sitters for both of my dogs. The time of response is awesome. I've met one sitter that we are in love with and now she is the sitter for both of my dogs.

Rover made it easy for us to find a dog boarding home very near our vacation spot. Communication was superb; the dog sitters were excellent, caring, professional and responsive. We were able to relax and enjoy our week away from Sam with the certainty that he was in the best of hands. Thank you Rover, Mae Ann and Meg.
