I took my cats to the sitter and when we got there, the sitter was clearly using drugs and their house was filthy. While I did get a refund, Rover took no further action against the sitter and they are still on the site today.

Rover was supportive and helpful through the entire process of locating my kitty.

“I don’t think Rover has a robust system for checking pet sitters — everything feels like luck. My dog went to a five-star pet sitter and ended up coming back stinky, and the next day she had serious diarrhoea with blood and wasn’t eating at all, even though she normally loves food. Luckily, we took her to the vet and thank God she recovered, but it was so heartbreaking. Rover did reimburse the vet fees, but I will never use Rover again. Also, you can only review the pet sitter within a very short time frame, and if you miss it, you can’t leave a review at all. That pet sitter still has five stars even now.
