DO NOT TRUST
I trusted Rover to keep my healthy 2-year-old dog safe while I was away. Instead, he became critically ill while in a Rover sitter's care and died from sepsis after less than 48 hours in the emergency hospital despite over $17,000 in life-saving treatment. What made this experience even more devastating was Rover's handling of the claim. After assuring me during my dog's hospitalization to focus on his care, my Rover Guarantee claim was denied because the exact underlying cause of his illness could not be determined—even though the veterinary records documented severe dehydration, sepsis, and multiple organ failure. Rover offered to reimburse only the cost of euthanasia and cremation. Please do your research before using Rover. Ask detailed questions, understand the limitations of the Rover Guarantee, and have a plan for emergencies. I would never want another family to experience the heartbreak that mine did. There is no support and no guarantee even though it was guaranteed over the phone through my dog's emergency hospital stay.
