From order to delivery. First class all the way. While on the higher end of my budget, I believe you get what you pay for. The coop showed up on time, BIG boxes and detailed instructions. You will need a second hand to put it together, but I am happy, the birds are happy, and most importantly, the wife is happy! 😀

So Disappointed
Our coop came with huge gaps in several places. We contacted them and sent pictures. They admitted it was their error and said the would custom build a piece that we could use to fix the gaps. They sent us what was basically a large picture frame and there is no way to fit it on to cover even half of the large gaps. So much for buying a coop that we thought would be ready to go once assembled!
Edit: The people at Roost & Root did reach out, which I appreciated. I do want to add, though, that there is a piece to hold up the waterer that in the pictures online is made of wood, but the one we received is made of plastic. It folded within a week or so and no longer holds up the waterer. We've tried to put it back and it will not stay in place.

I am so sorry, Kimberley. I thought I had come up with a good solution to solve your issue. I had no idea you were so unhappy with the bracket we sent. I would have tried something else immediately. Maybe I did a poor job of explaining how it would attach, or maybe I didn't fully understand the issue I was trying to solve. I apologize. I am sincerely grateful for all of our customers. I am truly sorry that I have made you feel this way.

Edit: We do appreciate the upgrade to 2 stars. I hope the effort we have made in response to your trouble has been noticed. We are still committed to making things right. I hope the gift card to the local hardware store was helpful. I am still happy to send you the custom strips of wood to ease your concern about wind. The offer to return your coop for a full refund still stands, as well as the offer to build you a completely new coop from scratch.
We still want to work with you. I understand your disappointment and I do not take my responsibility to you as a customer lightly. I feel like I have made every offer I can to improve your situation. Other than saying that I reached out, none of those gestures were mentioned. I feel like it's fair to say I have done much more than simply reach out to you. We are not perfect. We do make mistakes. However, I will put our record of making things right for our customers over the last 10 years up against any other business. We want to help.
In response to your problem with the waterer bracket, we are going to do a complete redesign on the part. We did a remodel on the Stand Up coop that you purchased in the fall of 2022. The main goal was to create fewer, larger panels in the hope of cutting down assembly time for our customers. In addition, we incorporated recycled HDPE plastic from a US vendor into the waterer and feeder supports. We believed it was an improvement from the previous wooden versions. We do not accept failure from our parts, so even though yours is the first to fail since October of 2022, we are going to start on version 2.0 of the support as soon as I am finished with the response. It will ship to you by end of day today.

My roost & root experience
I made a mistake when ordering my coop. I called and the mistake was very simply resolved. The coop arrived as expected, there where a couple of non-essential pieces missing. I called and the pieces were shipped with no hassle. I do have a suggestion. We stained our coop, and it is beautiful. However, it was a lot of work and not real easy. It would be great if there was an option to have it stained during production. I would gladly have paid extra.

Very happy repeat customer!
I purchased my first coop from R&R more than 10 years ago and ordered a larger model this spring after we decided to expand our flock size.
Our original coop has only gotten more beautiful with age. It’s just as sturdy and safe as it was over a decade ago. Our new coop, the Walk-in Roundtop, is every bit as high-quality. The western red cedar looks beautiful new, and ages with a patina that enhances our yard and makes a stunning focal point.
I appreciate the open roosting area that allows masses to fall to the ground for easy cleaning. The nesting boxes are generously spacious and make gathering eggs super simple. One feature the new coop has that our old one did not are the wind/weather protection panels. We live in a very windy area and I plan on leaving the panels on most of the year.
Roost and Root coops are the very best! I have also experienced great communication and customer service from the team. Our order arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Assembling the coop took about a day and felt like putting together a giant Lego set. The kids loved helping!

Love the coup
Love the coup. Our only complaint was that the instructions were a bit confusing. We were still able to put it together pretty quickly, but had to abandon the instructions at a point.
