It works
I ordered the starter coop because I rescued a rooster in questionable health so I didn’t need much space. Everything came flat packed and the directions were good. Unfortunately, the order of piecing things together didn’t work out, leaving me with a lopsided coop. The panel on the bottom that can be removed - we now have to lift the entire coop up to remove it because it sits lower than everything else, so it presses into the ground. This is after using a level and meticulously following each direction, btw. So, not super convenient. My only other issue is that the door to the egg box came hinged on super loose and the latches meant to secure it barely do, so that needed correction to avoid predators getting in at night. The coop is beautiful otherwise and it has been great over the last month and a half.

I think one thing that anyone that has spent time looking through our reviews can know with certainty is that we make customer service a priority. If we had known about any of the problems you mentioned prior to seeing this review we would have handled them immediately. Would it be possible for you to send some photos of your coop to our support email address ([email protected])? I can’t diagnose exactly what the issue is based on your description, but I do know you should not be dealing with that problem.
As soon as I see some photos I’ll have a better idea of how to help resolve the issue and whether it’s getting on a FaceTime call to offer to assembly advice or sending a new panel, we will get your coop functioning as it’s designed.

Not as impressed as past structures
Several of the pieces were unmarked which made some of the assembly a bit trickier. Additionally some of the instructions were a bit unclear and we ended up having to revise some areas (flip them around). Thankfully we did not have to entirely disassemble to fix it. The roof also did not have holes that worked/ matched with the wood attachments and the layers of metal and their fasteners didn’t make a lot of structural sense. Additionally the quality of wood was a little less desirable than previous purchases, splintered more easily (I bought this for my daughter and she has made three prior purchases through roost and root- greenhouse, smaller coop, smaller walk in coop.) once built it looks great and the chickens love it but I will say the process was not as streamlined as in the past.

We are happy to hear that your coop is together and that it looks great now that it is finished. The rest of the review is disappointing to hear. Your coop was built in the same batch, by the same people, with the same lumber as the customer that reviewed us just after you. I'm surprised and sad their experience with the Walk-In Coop was so much different.
When the coops get bigger the construction tends to get more complex. The Walk-In Coop has a capacity that is 4 times larger than the smaller walk in coop you mentioned. It's a structure that is seven feet tall and over over 75 square feet. We simplify the build as much as we possibly can, but there is not question it is not as simple as our smaller model coops. The details of a coop are always more intricate than a greenhouse because of the fact that we are designing them for living creatures. The assembly is more complex as well.
I would love to chat more with you about the confusion in the instructions and which pieces were not labeled. I am going to reach out to you personally via e-mail to continue the conversation. I hope you will still consider us in the future. Please know that we make ourselves extremely available to our customers via our support line. We have all been doing this for over a decade and we are highly skilled at assisting people through assemblies.

Coop is great
Coop is great. A part was broken when it arrived, and the delivery was poor (the people that delivered it dumped the crate about 200 feet down and away from the door). Other than that easy instructions and good quality on the materials,

Thank you for the review, Eduardo. We are disappointed to hear that the delivery did not go as well as it should have. We put a great deal of effort into finding the best freight option for each order. I wish it had gone differently. Unfortunately, there are parts of the delivery process that are out of our control. I am grateful you let us know and allowed us to warranty the damaged part.

I just love my little coop
I just love my little coop. I did the rent-a-hen thing and decided to keep the chickens. When the owner came to pick up her coop, she said my coop was cute but the chickens would never make it thru the winter!

I would say that you are getting some poor advice from the owner of your previous coop. All of our coops are designed deliberately to prioritize ventilation. Chickens are amazing animals that have been able to adapt to various climates for thousands of years. We are very confident in our design and our knowledge of chickens.
Over the ten plus years of being in business we have sent coops to Minnesota, the Dakotas, Wyoming, Montana, northern Idaho, and even Alaska. They all have happy, healthy birds. I understand the concern and I am going to assume her comments were sincere, but we have full confidence in our coops ability to house your birds in all climates.
I can see you ordered storm panels for your coop. When it comes time for the snow in your Vermont winter you can places those onto your coop. It will allow for continued ventilation and prevent snow build up inside the run.
