Stay away from Ro - False advertising and promotions 🚨
I had a truly disappointing experience with Ro. I signed up using a promotional offer that promised a free month — credits were applied, and my membership was active. During that time, a prescription was issued. Later, when my insurance denied coverage, I requested to pay out-of-pocket through LillyDirect. Shockingly, I was told the prescription couldn’t be sent unless I paid for another month — even though it was issued when my membership was active.
This is deceptive. The promotional credits were presented as a full month of service, but now they’re saying I have no access unless I keep paying? That’s misleading and feels like a bait-and-switch. I’ve read their terms of use, and there’s nothing stating that a prescription becomes invalid if you don’t renew. They’re gatekeeping access to a medication I’m willing to pay for out-of-pocket — which is not only unethical but borders on abuse.
Customer service has been slow, dismissive, and refuses to escalate. I’ve never left a bad review before, but I want others to be warned. I’m in the process of filing a legal/formal complaint. Beware.

Ro Health Is a Danger to Patients
Ro Health Is a Danger to Patients — A Case Study in Negligence and Regulatory Red Flags
I’m writing this review not just as a disappointed customer — but as someone deeply concerned that Ro is actively endangering patients and operating in a way that demands investigation by regulatory bodies like the FDA, FTC, and state medical licensing boards.
I initially switched to Ro from Fella due to budget constraints, but what I encountered was not just poor service — it was a healthcare company that is structurally incapable of delivering safe, legal, or ethical care.
To begin with: I clearly communicated my prior treatment with tirzepatide, a GLP-1 medication. I completed Ro’s full intake process, answered every question honestly, and submitted labs promptly. Without any direct consultation or review of my history, a provider I never spoke to unilaterally prescribed me semaglutide at the starting dose — as if I were a brand-new patient to GLP-1s.
This is not just bad practice. It’s a potential violation of basic clinical protocols and a serious safety risk to patients, especially when titration and drug history are ignored.
I was immediately charged, before I could speak to anyone or correct the error. There is no way to speak to a live human. All communications must go through the app, where messages are returned days to more than a week later — an unacceptable delay for any patient, especially one on prescription medication requiring regular monitoring and adjustment.
When I finally reached someone, I was promised a correction. Instead, I was double charged and lost out on the first-month discount, which no one has refunded. Every follow-up inquiry has been met with days-long silences, robotic apologies, or outright non-response.
But the most egregious failure was Ro’s complete inability to correctly process a basic insurance preauthorization — which I spent six weeks trying to resolve. First, they submitted nothing. Then I had to instruct them on how to do their job — by calling the number on the back of my insurance card, which they already had on file. Even then, they submitted the wrong documentation, causing a denial — and now they are refusing to try again.
During that time, I ran out of medication. I requested a refill. No one ever responded.
Ro continued to charge a monthly administrative fee — despite not filling prescriptions, not managing titration schedules, and not responding to messages. They are now refusing to refund those charges, even though they failed to provide even a basic level of care.
Regulatory Concerns:
No consistent access to a licensed provider
Failure to consider prior medication history before prescribing
No informed consent or live consultation before treatment plan changes
Dangerously slow response times with no escalation path
Lack of a patient support hotline or emergency contact
Billing without service, and refusal to refund erroneous or duplicate charges
Negligent handling of insurance documentation resulting in treatment delays
Ro is not just a broken system — it is a potentially dangerous operation masquerading as healthcare. Their model appears to prioritize recurring billing over patient safety, and their lack of live support or responsive clinical staff raises serious ethical and legal concerns.
If you’re considering Ro for your healthcare needs — don’t. If you’re a regulator reading this: this is a company in urgent need of scrutiny.

BEWARE - Took my money - No product, no response.
- I placed an order with Roman on 3/1/2025, almost an entire month ago as of date of this review.
- My credit card was charged on 3/1/2025.
- Required phone call with provider was completed on 3/5/2025, TWENTY days ago as of review.
- Provider said he would clear order for shipment.
- My account continued to indicate that a call needed to be conducted with provider.
- I messaged Roman on 3/16/2025. I received no response. Ignored.
- I messaged again on 3/17/2025.
- A generic, useless response was received from Roman days later, on 3/22/2025, simply telling me that my provider would be notified for further assistance.
- It is now 3/25/2025 and there has been NO resolution.
They took my money, and have provided NO product and NO meaningful response.
They are either scammers, are going bankrupt, or are completely incompetent.

Schedule-friendly Medical Care
This app is user friendly, personalized to my schedule, convenient and very well designed. I enjoy the data provided to me and transparency of the science behind the prescriptions and easy side effect reporting service. The affordability is fantastic! Also happy to see that there is a way to connect my insurance policy. Totally recommend!

This was an absolutely terrible…
This was an absolutely terrible experience because not only did they charge me for medication that they never sent me (only sent a few empty syringes to draw up a med I never got) But also proceeded to take the wellness portion of it without even responding to my messages or giving any type of education. This is a terrible company with horrible customer service and that does not respond, but they are very good at tricking you into signing up with them.

3 weeks & nothing
After 3 weeks, my pharmacy stated they still hadn't received a script from the provider. I emailed Ro and their automated email back said it could take up to 5 days for a response. I waited. Nothing. I emailed again and a couple days later, I got a response. The provider was very nice in her email, apologized for the lengthy delay, and said they were very understaffed and overwhelmed.
I ended up canceling my subscription because in 3 weeks, I had received nothing. My pharmacy does have the medicine in stock ~ they just needed the script.
I'll just end up getting this through my PCP provider instead. Just seems to be a waste of time and money.
