I have not used this service in well over a year because I have lost too many recordings due to the bugs in their software. However, I was rudely awaken to a charge to my CC recently in the amount of 395! Apparently, they have garnered old information and moved it into an auto renewal without my consent. Now they are refusing to refund the total amount! I have taken the issue up with my bank as well as the BBB. Buyer beware, they have gone to trying to scam people now.

Seems like a great tool but disappointing
Seemed like a fantastic tool at first but so many bugs with it we've cancelled our account after a couple months:
- a couple of our recordings had horrible audios but we couldn't tell at the time of recording as it sounded fine and only discovered it afterwards. Had to re record one of them on a different software.
- editing tool is so bad! The cursor lags so much it's impossible to be precise and cut at the right place.
Waste of time unfortunately, wish I read the comments first.

You can kill any good project with bad support
You can kill any good project with horrible service. Riverside is full of bugs and their support chat exist only to say "I see you not here bye-bye" after 1 minute wait. FCP export is not working, editing tool is a nightmare, basically everything but the recoding tool is horrible. Maybe sell recording tool for cheaper and don't torture people?

we've given this tool so many chances…
we've given this tool so many chances only to be disappointed over and over again. problems with every single recording. audio out of sync, quality during calls makes it impossible to have a conversation, complete recordings lost. what a massive disappointment. to the point where i'm wondering how this company is actually able to survive. the software just plain does not work. and you can read proof of it everywhere on the web.

The tool could be great, BUT the reality is cruel
I found Riverside.fm while searching for the best recording / podcast tools to start recording videos and interviews as part of the content strategy. After taking a look at the website and their offer, I decided to give them a try.
My first option was a free account with 2 hours of recorded tracks, Riverside logo on the videos and 720p quality of videos. I liked the fact that I could recreate a video for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram just clicking on the right format. The logo wasn't an obstacle, as I understand that they need to promote themselves through free accounts, so it was ok.
Two first videos went pretty well, in different formats, audio level was fine, the quality at the end wasn't bad, so I decided to purchase a Standard plan for 19 euros/month, to have the possibility to extract videos with higher resolution, better audio, and without the company's logo.
I don't like the fact that Riverside doesn't accept PayPal payments, and requires a card.
Then, their refund policy is 48 hours after purchasing, and here was one of my problems.
On the morning of my purchase, I already had 2 interviews to recorder. Everything was done as usual, nothing alarmed me.
The problem started from the recordings, indeed. Once finished, I saw that the audio from my side on the first video was bad, and there was no opportunity to clean it. Ok, I hid my tracks from the video and added my questions as images. And contacted the support. The audio on the second video from my side again was even worse (in the end I decided to re-record it once again, and it was a right decision).
But: the first video started to give problems during extraction, several times it was shown as entire black screen with captions only.
The first time, the support replied quickly. The guy told me that the problem was in hiding tracks (remember, I had to hid mine because of the low quality). So basically they unhid my tracks, and it added my broken voice to the black screen video (facepalm). Which didn't solve the problem with the extraction.
I was still in 48-hour period to request refund, but I didn't know what to do, whether stay and wait until final reply from the support, or just cancel immediately the subscription. I decided to see if they had an adequate answer with explanations on what it was and to avoid similar issues.
And you know what? They didn't reply. I pinged them twice through support channel and on their Discord server. Even now, while I'm writing this review, I'm controlling email and Discord in desperate hope to receive an answer. Nothing.
Ok, as I paid, and 48-hour period is over, I had to record another video today (the one that was completely broken from the description above). I made several tests for audio input, video, all worked well. We were able to record without problems. But when I started to edit (I basically added our logo and subtitles, this video was even without cuts or added images) and extracted, the video in the end was a black screen again (once more facepalm). Ok, I extracted it once again, and apparently, it worked.
I don't have any idea on why it happened or what I did wrong. I'm not a technical person to know what's going on. I'm just a simple user with 0 skills who needs a simple tool to record, edit and share on YouTube.
The silence from the support is unbearable. I mean, I paid for the service and I would like to use it properly. But no one provides constructive help. They also don't offer support via online calls, but it would be great, because the users would be able to share with the support what they see on their end in the studios. And again, I paid.
Saying so, I'm canceling the subscription, and go to search for another tool.

They are the worst!
Save your time and money! I have a podcast that I create and upload to Spotify. I use Loom and other software to Record and edit my audio video podcast. Recently Spotify announced that they were partnering with Riverside for editing on their platform so I figured it would be a good opportunity for me to check out what Riverside had to offer. The first time I used it I was very happy at the ease of editing. I continued using it for the next couple of months. It saved me a lot of time. And it saved a lot of steps from downloading from Loom and then uploading it and just a lot of steps were involved to create a very short episode. whenever I had a problem I would chat with support and they were very helpful at first. However, for the first time, I had a guest on my podcast Recording and it did not record properly. The audio and video do not line up. It was an unusable episode. I was able to salvage about nine minutes. But that is ridiculous and it wasn't because anybody at Riverside helped me. They suck. On April 15 I contacted support for the first time I finally gave up on Wednesday. I continually got zero answers about what could be happening and what could be done if anything. I am on time crunch because I like to have my video up every Wednesday for my podcast. After going in circles with at least four different support people, I gave up. All they kept telling me was rest assured we are looking into this repeatedly. Well rest assured I am not spending any money with Riverside. And rest assured I have moved on to a different platform that is way better. Don't use Riverside they are terrible. Their support is terrible. They are the worst. And Spotify needs to get their act together. They continually are pushing for creators to do video podcasts. But then recommend a subpar platform like Riverside. Also, their app is terrible. By the way, I still haven't heard back from them! That should be a good clue for anybody reading this not to use them.

Dissapointed
So, this product positions itself like a solution for podcasters who want quality recording.
Here are the problems:
- If you record your meeting/podcast, you'll experience a lag during your meeting because the file is uploading when you are in the meeting. This causes a lag and very very low quality. I want to see the person I am talking to as well.
- There is almost no connection, automation, or integration with other platforms.
- You can't share the HQ recording with your editor from the platform. You need to spend your valuable time downloading and uploading to Drive.
- Really bad customer support. You need to book a demo with the sales team to get replies for basic questions even if you are a paid user
- Update: I reached out to customer support again. They told me that I could not download the All Participant HQ recording. Actually, this is not true. I can do that. But I want to share this with my VA. Seems like I can't do that.
I highly recommend looking for another solution.
