They suck. They require you to use a camera to use the software. Why? What data are they collecting on me? I have never used any streaming software that REQUIRES the use of a web cam. Stream Yard doesn't. Onestream doesn't. Upstream doesn't.

Finding Out Riverside's Biz Ethics are Evil - What I just sent to them: Respectfully, cancel my account immediately. It is evil and atrocious... Sickening. The practices l've seen, the inability of your executive board to allow users to cancel the trial or subscription (build for both. In addition, to 12 attempts at a $240 charge, used it for zero minutes)... Even the coders with their UIUX confusion and evil practices bump all of you and bump Riverside. being censored here** - get excited for your subpoenas. Attached is an updated shot of your site, not included in the help form of how to cancel... Can't get a reply from email, can't find a way to do it on mobile or desktop... Better Business Bureau very well. Might hear about this... And I was sad because I was a bit excited to use your service. Maybe I will just build my own, vibe coding, baby. And this might be fun to talk about in my podcast.

Unnecessary complicated to access subscription, Cant do it in the app, just opens up a page to then send a desktop link. Deliberately making it difficult to cancel

Riverside recently acquired the Pipio AI team and technology, and rather than managing a proper transition or honoring the existing user base, they immediately took the Pipio platform offline. As a lifetime deal (LTD) holder who invested in Pipio early on via AppSumo, I have been completely locked out of the software I paid for. There was zero communication, zero option to migrate accounts, and zero effort from Riverside to make things right with the community that helped support Pipio's growth.Acqui-hiring a team just to absorb their tech and leave their original customers stranded is a terrible business practice. It shows a complete lack of transparency and disregard for consumer trust. If this is how Riverside treats the communities attached to the companies they buy, I cannot trust them as a reliable software provider.

UPDATE: I guess the bad review here on Trust Pilot and on social media made a difference because suddenly I got what appeared to be some real-person customer support which allowed me to apply my discount for the first year. However, when I came back here to add an update on Trust Pilot I noticed that the score had gone down, so I took time to read the complaints. Based on the large amount of people who also got the "bot runaround," even with their tech issues, I decided to cancel the account and look elsewhere. There is no sense is going through the learning curve just to get frustrated every time an issue happens. ORIGINAL COMPLAINT: It all looks great and I have been trying to sign up but there is a glitch in the process on the Riverside website end which I have meticulously explained to customer service by email and despite my careful emails back, all I get is a programmed response which fails to address any actual information or details in my responses or descriptions. I also have to wait a full day for any response and that has been extremely frustrating because when I finally do get a polite and cheerful note, it tells me to try the same thing as if it is a robot that is programmed for only so many issues. I am losing hope here and would not want this to be a forecast of the type of customer service I might expect. I have made one more attempt to reach a human. We will see. The actual issue is that I was offered a coupon for the first year and when I tried to apply the coupon, the system stated that the coupon was good but not applicable on that sign up page. So I reached out to customer service who suggested that I "log in and enter a payment method" and that someone could manually sign me up. I tried this on several browsers and no matter how I approached the website, I would be redirected to the sign up form which was the very one that did not allow me to apply my coupon. I could go ahead and forfeit the coupon and just sign up, but now that I have been offered it, I would like to apply it for a one year subscription and it would represent a sizeable savings. I have explained in detail by email that I cannot log in since the website for me is stuck on the sign up page; so, I asked them to send me an invoice or some means of giving them a way to manually process this. I wait a whole day and then only get the same robotic response which is to "log in and leave a payment method." Giving me that repeated response seems to be an AI function because I can't imagine that a human would fail to understand the problem after I explained it at least three times. Would I just be a number subject to a robot for all of my issues at Riverside? If so, NO THANK YOU.

I’ve been charged £288 for a yearly subscription despite unknowingly signing up for a pro plan. It’s been impossible to get the money back despite their website claiming they will refund within 30 days of payment. I raised this with PayPal who closed the case in their favour and I shared two separate screenshots with Riverside to prove that the claim was shut. I’ve been on the phone to PayPal for hours who are insisting that because they’ve closed the case that Riverside need to refund me, and riverside are refusing, claiming that they can’t see it’s been shut despite multiple proof documents being shared. This has drained my bank account and left me in an unarranged overdraft that I’m now paying interest on.
