It was great, mentor and supporting teams help me in my paper, and they are really nice.

My mentor Kelli Fletcher truly helped me a lo and explained to me what exactly a literature review was, how to conduct searches on google scholar for reliable peer-reviewed databases, and offered very good topic ideas. She also helped tremendously with the editing process and finalization of my paper, and was very available. My writing coach was also an important factor of my paper as well, but she could have been more flexible with her time schedule. Overall, my mentor has been a tremendous help for this project, and I hope RISE's connections with several high school journals will maintain my paper's momentum.

First of all, we chose RISE because it gives freedom to do research on the topic that the student wants to rather than enforcing them to choose one topic from their list. The assignment of mentor best suited for the topic is really amazing. They provide mentors who are PHDs and know the subject very well. Tracking the progress and sending reminders shows they’re very well organized and it is in the interest of the students rather than just doing it for the sake of it and money. Very much impressed by their working style and as a parent, am happy that we chose RISE for my kid’s passion project. Thank you.

I really liked how I got to take the reins and the whole project was very independent.

My research experience has been great so far. I’ve read papers to develop interests and an idea of what to research and have begun to draft my paper and process through genetics data. Working with my mentor has been a very insightful and straightforward with him providing me with solid steps and explanations to develop my ideas.

She is really enjoying learning a new skill. She is busy everyday researching and writing and trying a new way of learning.

The RISE research program very helpful and informative when writing research paper. Both my mentor and writing coach have done an excellent job of helping and guiding me. I am so glad to be apart of this program!

Overall very positive and constructive with my mentor and writing coach. One slight issue (which I understand is likely incredibly difficult to rectify) is a time zone difference between myself and my check in person and writing coach. This is nothing against the program or anything, just has made it a bit tricky to arrange meetings. I haven’t written the full paper yet, still in that process, but I am very glad to be receiving this support and for the most part being able to pace it.
