Program can be better
Hello! The whole program is about 8 weeks long and I felt like initial 2 sessions were not used fruitfully as the mentor didn't seem in sync with my kid and it took a bit of prodding from the coordinator for the mentor to get more involved in helping out/making suggestions on the reading material, giving pointers on what exactly to look for on the treatments for melanoma topic that was picked for high school journal publication. Maybe the session should be 10 weeks long or the mentors need to have very clear idea, agenda when they meetup with kids so that there's no ambiguity on the guidance and the goal of publishing a paper. So, clearly the program could get much much better, as I feel like I've spent a very large sum of money in just 8 weeks! Also, the writing coaches seem to be using AI to help write the papers, which a student could also do by using many available AI tools in the market. I believe the writing coach could have spent some time on giving background, setting expectations of writing journals, so that the student could get a grounding for future research paper publishing. There's still some time left and am hoping as a parent that my kid can come out with a good paper with the help from mentor and the writing coach. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts
