I have used RightStuf multiple times. I have frequently shopped from them directly and even purchased via their Amazon Store.
I have rarely had a problem with my order and no issues with shipping expectations.
I had one stolen mail package that was replaced by them.
I had one missing bonus item that they shipped out to me after I called.
I was unsatisfied with one item order via Amazon and they refunded me.
There customer service has always taken care of me.
Chris and Tyler have always been awesome and helpful.
I have read some of the negative reviews on this site and they strike me as incredibly outrageous. Some people's expectations are so far in left field its silly. "[ I ordered a gift card 5 days before Christmas and had issues ... blah blah blah.]" Maybe try doing your Christmas shopping a little sooner.

Amazing CS, great prices (when on sale), and totally worth shopping at
I have been buying anime (primarily) and manga at RightStuf for years. While the deals don't seem to be as good (I remember their Got Anime didn't used to have as many exclusions, and their regular prices on anime before sales were slightly cheaper without being discounted), they are still reliable and are my go-to for Blu-Rays and DVDs. Manga, not so much anymore because I'd have to buy a lot at once and then have to wait for the sales to get a better deal than I can find elsewhere, but they are solid for anime. They always ship quickly, but the post office can take forever with orders from them.
Their customer service is solid, too. I've had nothing but a good experience with them. I wanted to upgrade to the slightly more expensive limited version of an anime or soundtrack (I honestly don't remember which), and it was done within hours of my email. I also received a book that had some shredded parts due to shrink wrap, and received a replacement book without having to pay shipping again.
The ONLY complaints I have is that figures on their site are actually more expensive than most places, so I haven't ordered from them yet, and coupons can't be used on them. They also charge a lot more than normal at their booths when I see them at conventions, which I find disappointing. I get booths cost money, but they charge full price, or MORE than full, at conventions. I've always associated them with having good prices, so I would have figured their booth would sell anime for at least slightly cheaper than retail/extra markup. I'd love to buy from them at cons, but not when I can go to nearly any other booth and find cheaper prices.
The complaints I have are VERY minor, though, and shouldn't stop you from shopping there for anime/manga. I very VERY highly recommend them.

Over a year as a customer and a over a grand saved
I have been ordering from rightstuf for a couple of years now and I love them.
They are an incredibly cheaper alternative than purchasing in stores or at conventions, especially when you have the membership ($18 a year). On average, most books I buy are around 15-33% off and I buy very large orders. Their shipping is super fast and I usually get my products within the week, the next at the latest. They are also always updating their catalog and keeping up on new releases, as well as having constant sales each week. The books are always in perfect condition when I get them, theyre packed perfectly, and I always get posted notes in each box. My work office is filled with them.
As for customer service, Ive only ever had to deal with them twice, and both times they've been awesome to me (both times due to a credit card issue on my part). The answering machine is amusing and gave me a chuckle the first time I heard it, definitely not what you would expect from a professional company. I kind of love calling them when I need to. Both representatives have always been patient and helped me with my issues. They actually sound like they enjoy their job!
Ive only had rightstuf cancel one book on me due to not having it in stock and I actually had forgotten about the book by the time they told me. No big deal. I ended up finding it elsewhere.
For now, Ive saved over a grand just from buying from rightstuf over this last year. If you're planning on buying orders over $50 (for the free shipping in the US) I would totally recommend shopping with them. Outside of convention deals or discounts in bookstores these guys are the cheapest options.

I ordered for the 1st time, and I had a very pleasing experience
My objective for writing this review is to share my personal experience with ordering from RightStuf, and perhaps convince those who are on the fence about trying this online retailer (like I used to be) to give it a shot.
(Note: I live near Toronto, and I ordered 19 manga volumes last Aug 13, 2018)
I'll admit that I had some apprehensions about ordering from RightStuf because I've seen that its reviews are divided in websites like this one. But in Twitter, I've read more positive experiences. Bottomline: I took a leap of faith (haha) and decided to see for myself. Overall, I had a very pleasing experience when I ordered for the first time from them.
1.) Quick order fulfillment
I thought that my order will be delivered in 2 weeks, but it only took 4 days. In its website, they said that picking and packing will take at most 2 business days (after I placed the order), while shipping to Canada is estimated to be between 5-7 business days. But like I said, the whole process only took 4 days.
I placed my order on a Monday night (Aug 13). On the following day (Tues), at noon, I got an email notifying me that my order has already been picked and packed. On Wed afternoon, my order has been picked up by FedEx, and on Friday (Aug 17), at 10 am, it was delivered to my home.
It must be noted, though, that I ordered in August - after their month-long birthday sale in July, so maybe their workload is less compared to their peak periods. Also, the volumes that I ordered are relatively old, and so the chances of them becoming out-of-stock after I placed my order are very slim. With these, because Aug was presumably not a busy time, and my books are in stock, their order fulfillment was fast.
2.) The books are in great condition
I have very high standards (OC standards haha) when it comes to my books' condition, and I was honestly surprised that 16 of 19 of what I ordered met my high expectations. The 3/19 were still in good shape, but it's just that they have minor defects like scratches which I find slightly bothersome. In other words, for the average person, all of them were in great condition.
Their packaging is great. They wrapped the items with a brown paper material, and they put some cardboard on the sides of the box which act as cushion/extra protection. And they placed more of the brown paper on top. I wish they put some additional layer at the bottom which I think is the weakest side, but like I said, my books arrived fine.

The only downside from my experience is that, since I ordered from Canada, the USD-CAD exchange rate is not so favorable right now, and so it was like paying for the books at their full retail price plus tax here or maybe more (Obviously, this is already beyond RightStuf’s control). But I didn't really mind because some of the items I bought were hard to find anywhere else.
Overall, I had a great experience when I ordered from them. Hopefully, this review will be of some help for those thinking about trying RightStuf. :)

RightStuf is the Best
Based in Grimes, IA (who would have known an anime licensing company in the Midwest), Right Stuf is not only a licensing company but mostly a merchant selling anime goods. I bought many of my anime Blu-Rays and DVDs from Right Stuf. They also have tons of discounted products and I get even more discount from their Got Anime? membership. They provide free shipping on all orders over $49. When I had a problem, I just gave them a call to their 800 number and I get a friendly Right Stuf associate to address my needs. They ship fast and I often get a bonus by Right Stuf sending me my anime First Class Mail (instead of Media Mail) at no additional cost. Lastly, their subsidiary Nozomi Entertainment have a great anime call Tamayura. Check it out and buy it from Right Stuf!

Excellent source for Anime
I discovered them a couple years ago looking for the 1st season of Fullmetal Panic! which I couldnt find locally at the time (they're US based). Went to them again for Martian successor Nadesico series last november (again couldnt find locally as its an older series: late 90's which is an eternity in the Anime world). Selection is certainly decent, shipping times are great & shipping costs aren't outrageous either. I still prefer to buy locally but if its not possible for whatever reason this place is excellent!
