I am trying to cancel my hotel booking—more than a month before my arrival date. They're stalling until after my scheduled check-in date. I believe they're trying to deny me the refund, although I told them I have had major surgery and can provide records to that effect.

The site appeared like it was the official motel. The woman on the Reservation desk website told me there was a wedding that timeframe and there was only one room available so I needed to book it now. she also quoted a price for the room was a hundred a night more than the hotel charges and would give me the lower price. 5 minutes after I got off the phone on my email was billed $200. over the discussed price for misc. fees. I called instantly and was told because I had just booked 10 minutes ago I was within the 30 minute timeframe and could cancel. was told they would get back to me in a half hour. several hours later i called them and the now say 3-5 days. 5 days later they told me 5-7 days. 12 days later they told me a few more days. The company is a scam.

Jordan and Harvey sold a room for CAD$1371.32 the Fairmont Pacific Rim Vancouver did not have available. The company proceeded to refund only CAD$135.70 when we told them the hotel did not have the room. DO NOT use this company.

I was lead to belive that I was reserving a room directly with the Marriott since their number was on what appeared to be the Marriott website. I am attending a retreat there where a block of 50 rooms was reserved. I set up the reservation with no problem but later realized I was paying $50/night more than everyone else. And I was also told that the Marriott does not offer a military discount, a lie! I asked to cancel my reservation but was told I would not be receiving my $500+ refund AND the would charge me $18 to cancel it! These people are fraudulent! Avoid at all cost!

Reservationdesk.com is terrible! BEWARE! On the website they post a picture of the hotel giving you the impression that you are actually calling the hotel's reservation desk. They even act like they are the reservation desk of the hotel when you talk to them about making a reservation or changing an existing reservation! Do not be fooled. They are a 3rd party site who take advantage of people for their own financial benefit. They will take your credit card and charge you immediately. When you try to cancel the reservation, they give you a complete run around and will tell you that the refund has to be approved by The Highers" implying the decision has to go before a committee or someone higher up. They will ask you to be put on hold while they contact the hotel or say they will contact the hotel and call you back. DO NOT BE FOOLED! This is just their way to give you the false sense that you may get a refund when in fact they have no intention of giving you a refund. They keep your money for their own coffers. The hotel does not see a penny of the money they charge you. This is a company with other affiliated companies that should be investigated. I will continue to do whatever I can to expose them. C.W.

I would strongly caution anyone booking through Reservation Desk to make sure you understand you are using a third-party booking service and are NOT booking directly with the hotel. Their listing appeared above the actual hotel in my search results, and I genuinely believed I was calling the hotel’s reservation desk. I was booking accommodations related to my wedding, and because my venue partners with this particular hotel, I had no reason at the time to think I had reached an unrelated third party. I realized what had happened and called to cancel less than 24 hours after booking, for a reservation that was nearly a year away. I was told I could be charged the ENTIRE reservation amount as a cancellation penalty. What made the situation even more concerning was that I had called the actual hotel directly about 10 minutes earlier, and they could not even find a reservation under my name. Reservation Desk then told me it was up to the hotel to approve canceling without a fee. When I questioned the conflicting information and asked to speak with a manager, I was hung up on. I called back and spoke with another representative, who eventually told me she had contacted the hotel and that the hotel would not charge a cancellation fee, but she still needed to contact their “supplier” regarding the cancellation. The entire experience felt misleading, confusing, and unnecessarily difficult. I understand third-party booking companies exist, but consumers should be able to clearly tell who they are booking with before providing payment information. My advice: call the hotel directly using the phone number listed on the hotel’s official website. Do not assume the first reservation number that appears in search results belongs to the hotel.
