I know I have very bad eyesight, and expect there to be a delay in receiving my new glasses, but this order took over a month to receive, and the only communication I received was in answer to my repeated status inquiries. With all of that, the glasses turned out exactly as I'd hoped, and I'm very pleased with the end result.

I don't often leave reviews on businesses but seeing that RLE is a small, online business I know how important it is to give others and the company real feedback. I wasn't looking to spend more than $75-100 total, frames included, as I have a primary pair of glasses, so this pair was basically a backup for when I feel like leaving a pair at work. Local shops around me in NYC start at $99 just for the lenses, if you're lucky! So I found RLE online, skeptical at first, I bit the bullet and placed my order for the basic lenses–which RLE priced at 70-80% cheaper compared to my local optometrists—and I sent in my frames, which I also picked up at a great deal from Housing Works. After mailing it in, a bit nervous checking reviews, I contacted the company via their messaging system 2 times, once before mailing and once after, but after using the "Live Chat" feature, they replied they received my order and my frames, and it would take 3-4 business days to process. Relieved that they got my frames, I checked out the order page "status" and saw my lenses being processed! It would be great to get email updates when this happens so I didnt have to worry, but thats just me being over anxious about trusting a company I haven't heard before. Low and behold, after they received my frames on Monday, I'm now wearing my new pair Friday morning! Happy with the results, I will be definitely sending in my girlfriend's pair of glasses for replacement lenses. If anything, this company just needs better trusted validation that they are a real company and they provide AMAZING results at a AWESOME PRICE and GREAT VALUE! I just hope my review helps out anyone else who's hesitant at first, definitely go with Replacement Lens Express, you'll save so much more and receive just a good quality work on your glasses as you would from a local optical store, they pass on their savings to you and I think thats how the future of businesses should be. My Dr told me I needed some expensive Varilix branded lenses because I now need progressives. She wanted something like $800+ for them! I found RLE and got the same lenses for $358. So happy I went online! Turn around time was good and communication with the sales staff was speedy. Will be back next time my RX changes.

I couldn't be more pleased with this company! I bought a pair of vintage wire-rimmed glasses with the original lenses, which were bifocals with a heavy prescription and yellow with age. I wanted to use the glasses as a costume piece, so I was looking for someone to replace the lenses with plain glass or plastic, but most of the places I tried said they were too fragile. I sent Replacement Lens Express a photo of the glasses and they said they could do it. At that point I had a performance coming up, so I sent the glasses in with a request to please try to have them done and back to me within three weeks so I could wear them for the show. I soon had an email back telling me that the glasses had been received, and that due to their age and fragility, the lab couldn't absolutely guarantee that they'd be able to replace the lenses without damaging the frames. Well, I really couldn't use the glasses easily as they were, so I told them I would trust them to be as careful as possible and release them from liability if the frames did get broken. And a week later, I had my glasses back, in perfect condition and at no more cost than the standard charge for the new plastic lenses. I appreciate the prompt turnaround. I appreciate that they were open with me and didn't just charge ahead; I might have received a very different email from another company. "Oh, your glasses were broken when we attempted to remove the lenses. Not our fault, they were too old and fragile." And I really appreciate the care and quality of the work! When I first found these glasses at a vintage show, I was really excited at the find, but I was quickly disappointed when I realized how disorienting it was to wear them with the old lenses, and I was afraid the purchase had been a waste. My experience with local eyeglass labs just reinforced that feeling. Now I'm using my glasses in my current show and I look forward to being able to use them a lot in the future. Thank you, RLE! You'll be the first ones I contact the next time.
