I ordered replacement lenses for a frame that they did not have a lens spec made for yet, and they made the lenses just fine. The only issue is that the right lens goes out of focus when I look up about 15 degrees. The left lens is fine. I live in Japan so it's not worth sending them back to be re-done. Another disappointment was that the company registered the frames and lenses in the international parcel as if they were new, so I had to pay customs tax to get my own glasses back. It was not worth the $20 to dispute the tax, but it added 10% to the order cost. :(

I placed an order for glasses and frames on March 16th. They were for prescription sun glasses with bi-focal lenses. I received the glasses within two weeks and also received free shipping. I thought wow, this is great. Then I opened the box. The frames were the exact ones I ordered and I was pleased about that. Then I put on the glasses..... The bifocal was placed dead center in the very middle of the lenses. Who has that done? I then emailed them for a return authorization number. No reply. I had to request this three times before getting a reply. Once received, I had to pay for return shipping (hence, free shipping eradicated). I received no notification that they had been received. Fortunately I had sent them with tracking so I was able to know they had them. When I returned the glasses I included an old pair to show them where the bifocal should be located. Sounds easy enough but apparently it wasn't. The bifocal was not placed correctly (much lower than requested) and unfortunately I am unable to return them again, and I'm not sure I would, as I need them for a trip I am leaving on next week. All said and done, I received my exchanged glasses on April 20th. I can live with the glasses because they are the exact frames I ordered and the prescription is correct. I also don't do a lot of reading with my sunglasses. I would probably not reorder from them. I saved zero dollars. The only reason I did not order from my doctor was because he didn't carry the frame I wanted.

I wasn't sure how to order on the website but the staff responded to all of my email questions quickly. The selection of frames isn't amazing, but they specialize in lenses and the quality and workmanship for the lenses is just as good as what I was getting from my optometrist locally. I saved about 40% and the staff also gave me a free shipping coupon to use. I'm very pleased I went with RLE and will use them again if I need to.

be careful and wary before making your final decision. my experience is that it took more than a month for the express service to be processed and shipped. that is of course after receiving a letter earlier stating that they were shipped, but after not receiving anything the order was double checked only to discover that there was an error and actually my order was defective so that had to redo it. finally it arrived but one lens is incorrect being 3/4 of a number too low ! and the prism ordered was also not accurate. also i am not sure the lab manufactured lens is top quality so be careful, read more comments and decide for yourself if the price justifies the chance it will be okay in terms of returns i will have to wait and see what they can do. i am overseas and not counting in the overseas time for usps shipping which was actually very fast . the glasses were held up in customs but that is not relevant to my complaint but to others also ordering from overseas

The local optical shops (chain and independent) told me either that it was impossible to install replacement lenses in my fold-up Wayfarer frames or that the replacement lenses could be installed at a price almost twice the original price for the 2 year old lenses and frames.
