My first treatment on my Achilles…
My first treatment on my Achilles tendon I felt was successful and I saw some improvement., and it went very smoothly. However, it was not healed completely and, although improved, was still causing pain, so the doctor recommended a second treament. It was a very painful and difficult treatment; when I went in to give my blood for the second PRP treatment , there was a problem with getting enough blood, even though they tried at different locations in my arms, including trying several times to withdraw blood from deep veins in my arm. I truly wish they had quit after several tries and then rescheduled the procedure. However with a much smaller supply of blood than normal they did the procedure anyway. Despite it being unsuccessful it was very painful, even with an IV for the pain. I just found out that there was very little improvement, even after the pain of the unsuccessful blood draw and the painful , injections, plus the out of pocket expense. Perhaps it would have been successful if they has rrscheduled the procedure for a different day once they saw that the first few attempts at an blood draw provided a less than an adequate blood supply. It appears that I will now have to have surgery.
