Consumer Direct is easy to work with, with great customer service. Rates were better than other mortgage companies, and banks. Review and processing was fast and easy.

On top of having the best rates and lowest fees I could find, the underwriting and closing process were very smooth and easy. I have no complaints and have recommended CDM to others.

The refinance with ConsumerDirect was extremely disheartening, confusing, and time consuming. By far the worse bank experience I have had with any bank. They had messed up my income, which caused a $79 balance on a credit card to have me initially denied for the loan due to risk. After speaking with them, they had taken our 2 rental property mortgages and put down they were primary residences rather than producing an income. Additionally, the employment verification with their third-party vendor was another atrocious process. Our refinance took 2 months, and it was consistent calling them or their vendors. We've done 10 different loan modifications or new loans with banks, and I will never be going back to ConsumerDirect, even if they had offered the best rate that I can find.

I connected with them through Costco and I am glad that I did. The rate and service were both great. They were the first to call me after initiating a request on the Costco site and had the best rate but all of the companies rates were fairly consistent. Consumer Direct also had the lowest fees and the loan officer (Luis) who initially contacted me provided all of the information I needed without any pressure. The processor who I worked with (Angel) during three weeks it took close was also great and provided timely communication throughout the process.

Fully enjoyed interaction with loan officer Greg C. who was my first contact during the loan process, great rates. The follow on experience getting the documents in place and getting to approval was horrendous. The digital platform was useless, interaction with follow on employee was chaotic - no next steps explained, cutting really short on timeline (understood it's part of the loan process at the end, however, there could be proactive explanations instead of having the loaner to chase every piece of update). the follow on employee also sent an email requesting documents then immediately goes on vacation, giving me no choice to verify or inquire about the documents needed, back-up was not mentioned in the email. I had to escalate to Greg for help several times. Had used another lender before, the process was much smoother - their digital platform was not perfect, but there's always human interaction to help. Suggesting Consumer Direct Mortgage engage in better process/employee training.
