Hello Oliver. Please note that our Twisted Cotton Rope (Natural) is 100% cotton and we stand by our product. This cotton comes from local farms located right here in North Carolina. If you purchased anything other than this particular rope, it is a variant made from 100% recycled cotton material. Best, Customer Support
