We used to use an app on our cell ph to communicate but these radios are much cheaper after the initial cost and smaller. Set up was correct, shipping was fast. My husband's battery seems to drain faster than mine, but I think it's because he's away from the house more. I simply charge both every 3 days or so. I would buy them again.

Hi, The radios come with 12 months of service - after the first year, yes, you can renew the SIM card for another year. The fee is prominently in 5 areas of our website, including on the product page under “what’s included”. On the FAQ’s page, on the TOS page, on our e-mails, and on our various landing pages. We have requestioned your contact information in order to further discuss with you, please provide and we will call you as soon as possible! Thank you!

After Hurricane Helene we felt it necessary to find a way to communicate with our family going forward. The radios have been taken across the US and have worked just as advertised...load and clear.

We purchased the 4 pack radios with gel cases and mics and we are thoroughly impressed. Being in small town Midwest we know that there are LTE dead spots in some areas but we are having trouble finding them with these radios. They keep working even when our phones drop calls.

The day I tried to use them during a tornado warning for my area, they werent working. 5 emails later, since no one ever answers the phone...they had to do a "hard reset" on their end. What's the point of having them when they don't work when you need them and of course no one would answer a phone call and help me during the weather alert! Now there's a 50 dollar fee for "radio renewal" and they advertise no monthly fee...well it's a yearly fee! BEWARE of the small print!!
