Scam alert
I embarked on a search for a reputable Bengal cat breeder when I came across PurebredKitties.com.. At first glance, the website appeared professional and inviting, but further investigation quickly revealed disturbing inconsistencies that should concern any prospective buyer. One of the primary issues is the absence of detailed breeder information. There is no clear description of the breeder’s credentials, breeding history, or health certifications. Genuine Bengal cat breeders provide comprehensive information about their practices, ensuring that customers are informed about the lineage and wellbeing of the animals. In contrast, PurebredKitties.com gives only vague generalities, which is a significant red flag. Another critical concern is the website’s location and the associated standards. PurebredKitties.com operates out of Delaware, with a bogus address (I called numerous businesses in the area where not one could verify the existence of the business in the plaza). Additionally, they are not a member of the BBB, which was my second red flag. After constant pressure, they finally revealed the breeder was located in Ukraine where animal health and breeding standards are considerably less stringent than those in many Western countries. This discrepancy raises serious doubts regarding the quality of care provided to the cats and the reliability of the breeding process. When investing in a specialty breed such as Bengal cats, prospective buyers must have confidence in the health and legitimacy of the breeding operations. Unfortunately, minimal health oversight in Ukraine coupled with a lack of transparency on the website undermines this assurance. The situation worsened when I requested appropriate customs documentation for my pet’s shipment to the United States. Customs paperwork is not merely administrative; it is crucial to verify that the animals have met all necessary health and import standards. However, PurebredKitties.com failed to furnish such documentation when it was requested, leaving me with neither satisfactory proof of compliance nor peace of mind regarding the animal’s condition upon arrival. This omission is both irresponsible and indicative of potentially dubious business practices. Furthermore, communication with PurebredKitties.com proved to be extremely limited throughout the entire process. Prompt and detailed communication is essential in building trust between buyer and seller, especially when dealing with international transactions and live animals. My inquiries about delivery details, health certificates, and shipping schedules were met with minimal responses and unexplained delays, further compounding my concerns about their operational reliability. In summary, my experience with PurebredKitties.com has been overwhelmingly disappointing. The glaring lack of breeder transparency, questionable health standards stemming from their Ukrainian base, absence of crucial customs documentation, and poor communication collectively suggest that this business is not operating in a trustworthy or ethical manner. Potential buyers seeking a Bengal cat should exercise extreme caution and thoroughly research any breeder before making a commitment. It is advisable to pursue sellers who offer full, verifiable documentation and maintain consistent, clear communication throughout the sales process, ensuring the health and proper care of these beloved animals is prioritized above profit. Furthermore, potential pet owners must conduct extensive due diligence and rely on reputable sources to ensure their future companion’s well-being. A trustworthy breeder will provide complete health records, transparent documentation, and unwavering communication throughout the process. The experience with PurebredKitties.com is a stark reminder to never compromise on essential standards when purchasing a pet, for lasting calm assurance. UPDATE: May 31, 2025 Purebred Kitties is using a fictitious address for their business 501 Silverside Road, Suite 87, Wilmington, DE 19809. I called numerous businesses in the same plaza where not one business knew of them, Additionally, I searched the USDA website where it shows the business passing a feline inspection with no cats, huh, how with no cats?. The address on file where they did the inspection is a single family home,157 Riverview Drive New Castle, DE 19720 If you look on google you will see a run down 2-story house.
