I purchased a kitten and received it. She is healthy. However, I felt like the company has terrible communication. I received emails from several different people. It was always confusion. I had to beg for info about when the kitten would arrive. They left everything to the last minute. I am a breeder, I paid way extra for the Cattery package. Which I was told would include an echocardiogram. It did not. Was never provided a document to prove I paid for breeding rights until I again begged for it. Part of the Cattery package was to include a certified pedigree. I have not received it. However, I was able to reach out to the breeder, in Ukraine, and she is getting another one and sending to me. I will have to pay for the international shipping for it. I chose to go through them because I was afraid to purchase directly from a breeder over seas, I did not want to get scammed. I felt this would be safer. However, I have since worked with breeders over seas, and it has been sooo easy. And so much cheaper! I know I could have purchased this kitten with breeding rights for at least half the price if I had worked directly with the breeder. I guess for a pet purchase they could be ok?

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. We take your feedback seriously and understand your frustration regarding communication, breeding documentation, and the Cattery package inclusions.
Regarding the certified pedigree, we would like to clarify that the certificate was sent via mail, and the tracking number was provided to you via email. We understand the importance of receiving all documents and package inclusions as promised, and we apologize for the frustration this situation has caused.
We remain willing to work toward a resolution. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can review your case and coordinate any remaining concerns.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

The kitten arrived sick
The kitten arrived with an upper respiratory infection. I had to take her to a vet ER within the first 72 hours of having her. Considering upper respiratory infections can be deadly for kittens, I was extremely upset to see that upper respiratory infections are not “covered” by this website as specified in the contract they force you to sign before receiving the kitten. Very alarming and scary for the wellbeing of the animals. The kitten also showed up with urine all over her. Most likely from the travels. I had asked the “travel nanny” that was responsible for bringing the kitten to me if he had actually fed the poor kitten or given her any water. He claimed he did but the kitty was in pretty rough shape when I got her into my home. She drank water and ate food as if she was starved. The poor conditions are what obviously caused the upper respiratory infection. Only giving two stars because I was thankfully able to quickly recognize that the kitten was sick and got her proper veterinary care. At this point, I’m just grateful this whole experience did not result in a tragic and traumatizing ending for my family and myself.

Disappointing experience for price point
Unfortunately, our experience with Purebred Kitties has been disappointing. We purchased two male kittens—a Maine Coon and a British Shorthair. The kittens arrived about a month later than we were originally told, with a lot of unnecessary back-and-forth throughout the process.
About a year and a half later, our Maine Coon is only around 10 lbs and our British Shorthair is barely 7 lbs. More concerning are the behavioral issues we’ve dealt with since getting them. Our British Shorthair is extremely fearful and scared of almost everything, despite the videos we were shown making him appear much more social. He also regularly urinates and defecates outside the litter box. Our Maine Coon has repeatedly pooped and vomited on our beds and barely tolerates being held, which was very different from the temperament we expected.
We have a clean home with three litter boxes and have spent over $1,500 trying different boxes, litter, locations, and other solutions without success. We understand every cat has its own personality, but considering the price of these kittens, we expected much better socialization and established litter-box habits.
We love our cats, but between the stressful purchasing process and the ongoing behavioral issues with both of them, I would not purchase through Purebred Kitties again.

If you don’t mind a kitten with ringworm
If you don’t mind a kitten with ringworm and a company that doesn’t do anything to compensate for vet and medicine expenses then I highly recommend

Younger kittens have a better chance of adjusting!
If I order from Purebred Kitties again, I would definitely order a much younger kitten. Mine was 6 months when I ordered and 8 months when she arrived. She was totally traumatized by moving to the other side of the world! We are trying to get to know each other but we have a language barrier plus different customs. She doesn’t understand English, so NO is meaningless to her. One day in frustration I shouted NYET, and she stopped immediately! Shucks - now I need to take Russian language lessons.
My poor kitty was really depressed! Her eyes were dull and lifeless. Too many changes! For the first 8 months her life was safe and predictable, and then everything went to hell overnight. She already had her life planned out and those plans definitely didn’t include me. Since most of the kittens they sell are half her age, relocating isn’t as difficult for them. After 6 weeks in the USA, if I left my kitty alone with my phone and credit card, I know she would order a plane ticket back home to Ukraine.
Would I order from Purebred Kitties again? Not after what happened next!!!
I tried for 2 months, treating this cat with kindness even though we never bonded. My vet said the cat was a product of inbreeding - with carpal valgus (joint malformation) ... and extremely low intelligence!
A mentally disabled cat would never be safe in the home of a woodworker with saw blades and power tools everywhere. She needed to go! But Purebred Kitties customer service said they want to control where I send the cat. Ten minutes later Maria (the owner) called and told me I was a horrible human being and should never be allowed to have another cat. She was shockingly rude - said the most terrible things!!! Maria didn’t care where the cat went - said that was my problem. The whole conversation was totally inappropriate and I lost all respect for Purebred Kitties. She berated me for 16 minutes, then said she was blacklisting me. Fine - I would never get another cat without meeting it first!!!

Hi Jeannie,
Thank you for taking the time to share such an honest, thoughtful, and detailed account of your experience. We truly appreciate how much care, patience, and effort you’ve already given your new kitty — it’s clear you want the very best for her, and we’re grateful she ended up with someone so committed to helping her adjust.
We understand how challenging it can be for an older kitten to relocate internationally. While most families choose much younger kittens — which naturally adapt more quickly — the transition for an 8-month-old can be significantly harder, especially after leaving a familiar environment, routine, and language. Your frustration is completely valid, and we’re sorry that the adjustment has been so emotional for both of you.
Regarding her origin, we do work with licensed international breeders, including those in Ukraine, and every kitten travels with the required documents and passport. We never want any family to feel surprised by this information, and we sincerely apologize if this wasn’t communicated clearly from the beginning. Transparency is incredibly important, and your feedback helps us continue improving how we explain the process.
We’re encouraged to hear that with time — and even some creative problem solving — she’s already showing brighter eyes, more engagement, and glimmers of trust. These early signs are meaningful, and it’s very common for older kittens to take several weeks or even months to fully settle into a new home and bond with their family.
We’re here to support you however we can. If you’d like guidance on bonding, behavior, or easing the transition further, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. You’ve already done so much right, and we’re confident that with patience and consistency, she’ll continue opening up more each day.
Thank you again for your thoughtful review and for giving her a safe, loving home during such a massive life change.
Warmest regards,
Purebred Kitties Team

This is an update to a 5 star review…
This is an update to a 5 star review that I posted back on August 12th of this year for my Oriental Shorthair kitten. We are now a few months down the road since her arrival, and thankfully my beautiful kitty is healthy and thriving and I couldn't be more pleased with her. But I could not in good conscious let my initial review stand after I never received the pedigree that I had requested and paid for. I've waited patiently for months and repeatedly reached out requesting either the pedigree or a refund, and have essentially been ghosted. Even Kim, whom I spoke so highly of previously, has not replied to any of my inquiries. It is very disappointing to say the least.
I will also say, that even though my experience with Purebred Kitties was positive up until now. Do beware that once you put your $900.00 deposit down there is no getting it back. I also had no clue when I put my deposit down that my kitten was coming from Ukraine, and honestly I was very concerned about it when I found out. Not because the breeders aren't legitimate and reputable, but because of the distance my kitten had to travel to reach me. Had I known this up front, I probably would have looked elsewhere for a kitten. To their credit my kitten did arrive safely and in good health beyond some mild travel fatigue. Just be sure to inquire and get all your questions answered before you place your deposit. Transparency in not Purebred Kitties strong suit, and I can't believe that given what I paid for my kitten, that this whole transaction went south over a $250.00 pedigree, but here we are. Just do your research.

Dear Anne,
First, we are truly heartbroken to hear about what you and your family are going through. Please know that at PurebredKitties.com, the health and well-being of every kitten we place is incredibly important to us, and we are deeply sorry that your experience has caused such pain.
While cardiomyopathy is a rare but serious genetic condition, we want to clarify that all of our kittens are examined by licensed veterinarians before leaving the breeder’s care, and we require thorough health checks and certifications before any kitten is rehomed. Unfortunately, certain genetic conditions—especially those that can develop later—may not always be detectable in early exams. That said, this doesn’t lessen the emotional impact, and we want to help however we can.
We would truly appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly to understand more about your situation. Even if you feel discouraged, we encourage you to contact our care team so we can look into this matter and explore possible support options for you and your kitten. We care about every family that adopts from us, and we’re committed to acting with compassion and integrity.
Please reach out to us at [email protected] or call us at 877-227-3707—we are here to listen and help in any way we can.
Again, we are deeply sorry for your family’s heartbreak. We want to ensure that no family feels unsupported, and we are committed to working with you during this difficult time.

Poor planning with very poor…
Poor planning with very poor communication. A long story but a condensed version is it too a grueling 8+wks of trying to get my cat. Lots of communicating but none of it was either helpful or useful and many times illuminating poor listening skills. The only reason why I'm not giving 1 star or less is because the cat is healthy and obviously well socialized. I would recommend getting a cat directly from the breeder and avoiding this company altogether, I wish I had.
Response from Purebred KittiesMay 12, 2025
Hi Kassie,
Thank you for your honest feedback. While we’re truly glad to hear your kitten arrived healthy and well-socialized, we’re sorry the process felt frustrating and communication didn’t meet your expectations. That’s not the experience we aim to deliver.
We want to clarify that PurebredKitties.com isn’t a breeder—we’re a U.S.-based platform connecting families with thoroughly verified breeders worldwide. Because we act as a bridge between families and ethical breeders, we understand how important clear, consistent updates are. Your feedback highlights areas we’re actively improving—especially around communication and follow-up.
If you’re open to it, we’d love to learn more about what didn’t go right so we can make it better for others. Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at [email protected].
Wishing you and your new kitten many joyful years together,
The PurebredKitties.com Team
