We have had a great experience with PuppySpot. the process of finding a dog was seamless and the communication between us and the breeder through puppy spot was great. Our dog arrived safely and we are so happy to have her. Thank you Puppy Spot.

Responsiveness was great when it came…
Responsiveness was great when it came to buying our puppy. It was dismal when it came to actually getting the puppy. I had to call multiple times and was on hold for at least 40 minutes with each call. In general the customer service people are very nice, but on one occasion I was promised a call back and never received one - and in others they simply were not able to help. The delivery date for my puppy was delayed because the breeder wasn't able to get a final vet check - not puppyspot's fault - but trying to get information on an alternative date was impossible - and there was no timing clarity or flexibility. That said, so happy with our new puppy.

I am in love with our puppy and really…
I am in love with our puppy and really enjoyed working with Paul, my concierge. The only down side was that the puppy had coccidia. I was informed in advance by puppy spot. They informed me that this was identified by the vet at the breeder and was treated. I then will follow up with my vet in a week to make sure it is gone. It is common, which I understand, but we needed to have the puppy's anal glands expressed by the vet. Puppy spot very honest about it, and I had the option of cancelling the contract, however I would have felt terrible doing that and would have to wait an additional month for another puppy. I am glad I didn't cancel as he is a great pug.

totally professional
totally professional, every step of the way. Transportation from Florida to Boston was seamless. Despite Covid-19 challenges, they exceeded expectations and time frames. And Kilian, the new family member is thriving.

Be Leery
I would be very leery of this company and purchasing a puppy from them. We bought a puppy from them (known then as Purebred Breeders) 10 years ago and the dog turned out to be a wonderful healthy pet. I inquired about a puppy recently and got very little assurance about the health of the puppy. They told me that the breeder of this specific dog did not do any genetic testing (it is common among reputable breeders to do some testing depending on the breed) but yet they stated the puppy was healthy. They also sated that the puppy would be given a thorough exam at 8 weeks but the purchaser would only see the report when receiving the puppy. When I questioned the Puppy Spot person about testing, she abruptly told me the I was not a Puppy Spot customer and hung up.
Their prices are high and one would expect some better assurance of receiving a healthy dog without common genetic problems. I would recommend going directly to a reputable breeder for your puppy and not rely on a third party broker who has a vested interest in getting the puppy sold.

Puppy Mills, decide for yourself
I did not get pictures every two weeks and it turns out my English bulldog’s right eye was infected and swollen. It is being treated by the vet and now we need a specialist. I was also told I could pick the dog up from the breeder in Indiana and I was not allowed to meet the breeder or our dog. I was also forced to pay for shipping even though I didn’t need it. These are huge red flags for puppy mill in the middle of Amish Country, Nappanee Indiana. I will be filing complaints with BBB and the state attorney generals in Illinois and Indiana for consumer fraud.
Five Indiana puppy mills are on the list for humane society horrible 100 in 2020 and Nappanee is listed.

PUPPYMILL puppy and TERRIBLE customer service
EDIT: PuppySpot replied to this review with confusion as a way to distract from the FACTS stated in my review. Furthemore, they say I’m “not in their database” despite me receiving multiple calls, voicemails and emails from them trying to “rectify” this review. Don’t believe a word they say!
Highly recommend NOT using PuppySpot. The customer service is abysmal, they’ll promise things and then later on say they never said anything of the sort. Example “your puppy will travel within 5 days of hitting all milestones (weight, age, vet check, etc.).” Once five days were up we called and they said- quite rudely- “no we said we would finalize travel within 5 days”. So I asked when he would travel- “oh we haven’t finalized that yet.” WHAT?!? On top of that when we actually finally received the puppy and they revealed who it’s breeder was it took a very quick google search to find that our lovely little dog DID COME FROM A PUPPY MILL. The breeder’s name (Melvyn Lapp) can easily be googled and is related to and lives with Elmer Lapp who was listed by the Humane Society if the United States as one of the “horrible hundred” breeders in the us. DO NOT BELIEVE PUPPYSPOT, THEY ARE SELLING YOU A PUPPYMILL PUPPY.
Here’s the quote from the Humane Society:
Elmer Lapp/ Pine Hill Kennel – Hagerstown, IN: Bloody Puppies and Wormy Food
Pine Hill Kennel has accumulated some gruesome USDA violations in recent years, including repeated violations for improperly docking (cutting off) puppies’ tails. At its most recent inspection in February 2013, an inspector found puppies with recently docked tails which had been glued together at the base with expired surgical adhesive, a limping Boston Terrier, a matted shih tzu with dental disease, and more repeat violations for issues such as insects and feces in the dogs’ food, filthy conditions, and “rodent feces throughout the facility.”
Prior violations cited by USDA inspectors at Pine Hill Kennel have included: bloody puppies with recently docked tails found lying on a bloody floor (April 2010); repeat violations in May 2012 for several dogs in need of veterinary care, including a limping shiba inu with an injured leg who had blood all over the floor of her enclosure; sale of underage puppies; beetles and worms found in the dogs’ food; conditions in some of the kennels that were so filthy that some of the dogs had no clean area to lie down on; having an unlicensed person cropping puppies’ ears instead of a licensed veterinarian, and many other problems. USDA #32-A-0363.

Brenden - We were confused by your feedback, as PuppySpot is not, and has never been affiliated with the individual you have mentioned in your review as being on the Horrible Hundred report published by the Humane Society. We would never work with a puppy mill or anyone associated with substandard breeding practices of any kind. We work tirelessly to not only combat substandard breeders but also screen and vet our own breeder community to ensure we only work with responsible, caring, and USDA licensed breeders. While we would love the opportunity to speak with you directly to help clear up any confusion about our No Puppy Mill Promise and any other breeder questions you may have, we are unable to do so since we cannot verify your contact info anywhere in our database. Please give us a call as soon as possible, at 855-370-3006.
