Breeder should be reviewed by PuppySpot
I understand this review is for PuppySpot, but because the breeders are chosen by PuppySpot, I have comments about my puppy’s breeder. My puppy arrived very smelly and he had a skin allergy which left him scratching and crying until I got him into the vet. This was distressing for him and us. A bath and skin allergy medicine helped. Additionally, my puppy was more than 5 months old when he arrived but he had no potty training nor did he know even basic commands. I understand this is not required by the breeder, but reflects on the quality of the program they have when the basics are ignored. The PuppySpot team was generally helpful, although Keefe, who processed my purchase and promised to answer any questions I had after purchase, ignored my emails despite sending 3 times. Do what you promise, that’s all I need. Let’s be clear- I did not expect him to be housetrained, but some progress towards that in a 5 month old puppy is not unreasonable. Further, your response doesn’t even acknowledge the other issues, including his skin allergy after he was supposed to be seen by a vet a few days earlier, and his fur was overgrown and matting, he smelled. No mention of your customer service agent not responding to my repeated emails? Please don’t just comment on the obvious, how about addressing the health issues and customer service? Extremely unprofessional response.

We apologize that Ms O'Sullivan had expectations that her puppy would arrive home potty trained and knowing basic commands. While all our breeders socialize their puppies, regardless of age, the transition of environment from breeder to new home requires each of our puppy families to teach their new furry family members the new rules and schedules of the home. We hope that Ms O'Sullivan and her family have been able to do so and if they have any need of assistance, we are here to help with advice and tips for success.
