PubbyReviews of pubby.co

SCAM. They are happy to take your money but there is nothing given in return. Books just sit there for weeks and weeks without anyone reviewing them. This used to be a much better run business that provided results. Now it’s just a greedy money making scam. They keep changing their rules making it more expensive and worse results ( if that’s possible) for authors. STAY AWAY.

Customer service reps are snarky and make snide remarks. Unprofessional and incredibly unhelpful.

I am paying for this subscription and honestly unnecessarily. If I have to pay a month to get 2 reviews a month (when it works out), then no thanks. I have used the service in the past and at least by asking for the reviews for free without having the book purchased some reader would leave the review and some even some improvement advice. Now the service sucks! I pay and get nothing in return as promised! It is NOT a SERVICE it is A SCAM! Other than 2 days to get the review as they say in the presentation of the page, one will come every 10 days if it's ok, also they limited the possibility to 5 reviews per week as unverified (to leave) and to 5 review per book to ask at a time...so what am I subscribing to do, I'm not even enticed to do snaps, I can't ask for them anyway and they don't even take the book to read it. I'm sorry but this is really USELESS and doesn't work.

If I could give zero stars, I would do so without hesitation. Pubby presents itself as a service for obtaining reviews for authors and publishers, but the experience has been so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn other potential customers. I currently have more than 20 review requests open in their system, and NOT A SINGLE ONE has been generated. Zero. Nothing. A complete waste of time and money. Customer service? Nonexistent. When you finally receive a response (after days of waiting), they offer the excuse that they are a "family business" and need to "dedicate time to their family." Frankly, this is not the customer's problem. When I pay for a service, I expect it to be delivered, regardless of the personal circumstances of those managing it. Competitors offer infinitely superior services, with reasonable response times and concrete results. Save yourself time, money, and frustration: stay away from Pubby. There are far better options available for authors seeking legitimate reviews.

I joined back in December and at first I did get reviews and it was great. So I started banking my snaps for my two book launches one 10 (never got picked up) the free promo ended so I rolled those points for my actual book. Looking at my Amazon dashboard only 8 out of 45 snaps (and that’s if they all came from Pubby which I doubt because I also told people about it in and I’m sure they are taking advantage of the free promo. I’m devastated as this book was my first high content book and Pubby is making my launch flop.

I have to agree with all the previous reviews. I joined Pubby on a monthly subscription about six months ago. It was great to start with; then, about three months in, it seriously went downhill. I have 30k credits, but nobody is reviewing my books, even though they cross multiple genres—a book for all tastes! I've just onboarded a new book and have so far been waiting nearly two weeks to get a single review. Thankfully, I pay monthly, I'd be heartbroken if I parted with a year up front. There are better review sites out there, which is where i'll be going.

I gave them a chance. I read 10 books and gained a lot of points. My book was up for weeks and only got 1 review. I did the 7 day trial, but at the end they logged me out of my account, exactly when the trial period ended, my password did not work anymore, and the page to assign a new password was offline. Result: I could not cancel at the end of the trial and with this they pushed me into a paid subscription. In my view a waste of time and money. Don't do it. I do not know if it is incompetence or purposefully a scam, but for the client experience it has the same effect.

So I can’t scream like others that Pubby is a scam, when I first started with Pubby I did get reviews. However the past 2 weeks despite diversifying the reviews I want including kindle, verified and free verified purchases I haven’t received a single review which leads me to believe that people have stopped using Pubby even the offerings now are extremely limited for you to review and are mostly just low content books. It’s a shame because it’s a family run business which you want to support but they’ve just let it get run into the ground and now people have lost trust in the company and found better alternatives. Hopefully they can work at the business and get its reputation back again.
