My experience with Phone2 has been nothing short of stellar. The service is dependable, simple to use, and works as advertised. The initial configuration took no effort, and since then, everything has been working seamlessly without any issues. Something that is very rewarding is customer support. They get back to you within minutes, and they are truly supportive and willing to do what it takes to answer your questions.
I have no reservations about recommending Phone2 to anyone who is looking for a service that is backed up with reliable customer support.

Easy to use and convenient for those…
It is very IRRITATING that you request me to give you an evaluation in exchange for credits and then when I want to access a code, I cannot see it. Make your app work properly if you want good reviews instead of insulting the clients. I PAID FOR IT.

Hi Dan, we’re truly sorry for the frustration this has caused. To clarify, Trustpilot doesn’t show us your account information here, so we can’t look up your case directly. Please email us at [email protected] with your username so we can review your account and fix this for you right away. We absolutely want the app working properly for you, and our team is standing by to help.

Unreliable service, will not honor own refund policy
If you're thinking of using Phone2.IO, I urge you to stop here and reconsider. You probably already considered that there are so many options out there if you want a new phone line. And now consider the type of company this is:
This phone line requires you to use their own app for it to work. Now, I test this app by having friends call me before I use it for business. The app's call receiving is unreliable - I'm missed test calls. The app's call notifications are unreliable - I've had missed calls that showed up but didn't ring. This is separate from calls I just didn't receive at all. And this is not even getting into the quality of the calls, or the SMS, because why would I use something this unreliable as a touch-point for my business? It doesn't make sense. The app is also feature-poor - I can't even set this line to ring differently from my main number.
Suffice to say, I requested a refund. Their return policy says:
30-Day Refund Window
You may request a refund within 30 days of purchase, provided:
You did not use a free trial before purchasing.
The refund request is not due to a refusal to complete TCR registration.
I satisfy both of those, and yet they still won't give me a refund because they claim calls are going through. This service failed reliability tests that I conducted, so how do they know all calls are going through? They just know the calls *that they see* are going through.
Not to mention, the mandatory app is terrible. They refuse to give me any other reason to deny my refund, falling back to the language that I in fact "can request" a refund although it'll be on a case by case basis. Well, if you use language like this, technically I "can request" a refund in any and all circumstances, not just "provided those 2 criteria are satisfied". This is just an excuse to hide behind the fine letter of their print and not having the spirit of having integrity and keeping happy customers.
There are some things in life that, if you try it out, you'll get punished. Phone2.IO is one of them. They have many, many alternatives and competitors. You don't have to use Phone2.IO, and it's best for you if you don't.
Google "phone2.io return reviews" if you want more information.
EDIT: Based on Phone2.IO's reply, you'd think they'd resolve this quickly. Well they didn't - If they did, I wouldn't have had to write this review. Absolutely non-cooperative. So, Phone2.IO, are you actually going to do what you claim to do in public, or do you act completely different behind the scenes?

Hi Henry — thank you for your detailed feedback, and I’m very sorry for the frustration you’ve had.
First, regarding the call reliability: we recently upgraded to HD Voice, which did cause some disruptions since Friday. An Android update was released on August 24 to address this — were you able to upgrade? This update has resolved call stability and missed notification issues for most users.
On refunds: our policy is to honor all refund requests. Since I can’t see your information here on TrustPilot, could you please email [email protected] from the same email you used to sign up? That way we can look at your account logs, troubleshoot what happened, and process a refund right away if you’d like.
About the “mandatory app” concern — Phone2 works on iOS, Android, and the web (app.phone2.io). If you’d prefer not to use the app at all, you can set your number to forward calls to another line. That way, you don’t have to use the app interface if it doesn’t suit your workflow.
We absolutely want you to have a smooth experience, and I apologize if our communication hasn’t conveyed that clearly. Please reach out directly so we can either make this right or refund you promptly. We’re on standby to resolve this today.

Great Experience, Highly Recommend!
From the very beginning, I felt confident working with this company. They handled my requests efficiently, provided timely updates, and showed great attention to detail. Their customer service team was friendly and approachable, which made the whole process stress-free. I would definitely choose them again in the future.

Best Skype alternative
When Skype discontinued its phone number service, I took the time to explore alternatives and landed on Phone2. The transition was seamless, and the porting process went smoothly. Now i have more functionality than I previously had with Skype!

I Live Overseas
I live overseas, so I was a satisfied user of Skype and could not believe that Microsoft removed it without replacing it with a similar application.
Since I need to have a US based number that my banks can use to send security codes, I chose Phone2 and within 48 hours I was up and running with my new stateside number that I chose from a list provided by Phone2.
There is still room for improvement (like being able to send an SMS or delete a chat when finished), but that does not affect the important issue of receiving messages from the US (not only from banks but also other contacts).
And, if needed, I can do a voice call to the US using Phone2.
So, to Phone2, I say 'Thank you for being there when I needed you!'

Works quite well!
Works quite well for phone calls and SMSs.
User interface is a bit confusing on a pc.
Some services (like Credit Karma) know it's not a real cell phone and won't talk to it. :(
