Friday, August 21, 2026 LOOK ELSEWHERE — BEWARE OF PET PARADISE CEDAR PARK’S PRICING PRACTICES Pet Paradise contacted us about boarding our dog October 5–13 and quoted us $390 total. We accepted, and they entered the reservation into their system and emailed us a confirmation. A couple of hours later, the manager, Camille, called and said their quote was wrong. The price was now $77 per day—over $600 total, even though we provide our dog’s food. When we asked them to honor the price they quoted, we were told there was nothing they could do, so we had to cancel. Mistakes happen, but increasing a confirmed customer’s price by more than $200 and refusing any reasonable resolution certainly feels like bait and switch to us. It raises serious concerns about transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices. They have lost our trust and our future business. I recommend looking elsewhere for a boarding facility that stands behind the prices it quotes.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Pet Paradise. A week before my scheduled boarding, I completed a tour of the facility and completed the the required paperwork prior to boarding. During the tour, I specifically asked if there was anything else I needed to do before my dogs’ stay, and I was told everything was set. Today, I arrived to board my two dogs before leaving on a trip tomorrow. One is an almost 2-year-old French Bulldog who is perfectly healthy and fully trained, and the other is my 17-year-old Shih Tzu. After arriving, I was told they would not board either dog. My French Bulldog was excited from the car ride and had just been outside before we drove over, so she was panting. They said her temperature was elevated and refused to board her. As soon as we got home, she was completely fine, acting like her normal self, and showed absolutely no signs of illness. My 17-year-old Shih Tzu was also refused because I had put a diaper on her for the drive as a precaution in case she became nervous and had an accident in the car or lobby. I explained that she does not wear diapers at home and that I simply take her outside regularly. I didn’t even bring extra diapers because she doesn’t need them. Despite explaining this, they still refused to board her. What is most frustrating is that none of these concerns were discussed during my tour or after I completed all of the paperwork. Had I been informed in advance that these issues could prevent boarding, I would have had time to make other arrangements. Instead, I was turned away the day before my trip with virtually no notice. As the owner of brachycephalic breeds, I fully understand that facilities must prioritize safety, and I appreciate caution when it is genuinely necessary. However, this experience left me feeling that my dogs were being judged primarily because one is a brachycephalic breed and the other is elderly, rather than being evaluated based on their overall health and individual circumstances. If your family has a French Bulldog, another brachycephalic breed, or a senior dog, I strongly recommend not boarding your dogs here. My experience was incredibly stressful. I hope Pet Paradise reviews its intake process so other pet owners don’t have to go through the same experience. I would not recommend this business to anyone.

Rocco, my beloved dog, has always been a healthy and happy companion. Recently, we boarded him at Pet Paradise for just one night, expecting him to be safe and cared for. When we picked him up the next day, he was breathing heavily and his gums were starting to turn blue. Alarmed, we rushed him to a local vet, where he had to be intubated so he could get air. The vet explained that his throat was swollen from excessive barking, likely all night long, and no one had called us to let us know what was happening. After a few hours, the vet released him to go home, but once we got Rocco home, he took a turn for the worse. We rushed him to the UF animal hospital in Gainesville, Florida. There, the doctor told us we had two options: put him on a mechanical ventilator or wait for him to pass. Just hours before, Rocco was a healthy dog, full of life. He is like a child to us, and neither of us could make the decision to let him die when he had been in perfect health so recently. The cost for the mechanical ventilator started at a very high amount, and we were required to pay a deposit up front before any treatment could begin. We had to open a care credit account to get started, but we are not in a position to fully pay this amount and will have to make payments, which will gain interest and put us in a bind we weren't prepared for.

My 2.5-year-old boxer, Bruno, died less than 18 hours after I picked him up from Pet Paradise in Hoover, Alabama. He boarded there from 03/24/26 to 03/29/26. During his stay I never received any call or notification that he was sick, nor did he receive any medical attention. When I arrived to pick him up, Bruno was extremely lethargic, walking with a limp, and breathing very rapidly. These were not normal behaviors for him. Additionally, he had a strong odor of urine coming from him. While we were still at the facility, staff took his temperature at the front desk and told me it was normal, then saying he was just tired. Because his condition concerned me, I took him to an emergency veterinarian. The emergency vet recorded his temperature at 105.4°F, and we were then transferred to the veterinary hospital at Auburn University, where Bruno passed away. I had also signed up for the “Furever Connected” service for 03/28/26 (the day before pickup), which includes photos that accompany the report card. However, no photos were provided, though we were told we would not be charged for the service for that day of his stay. After Pet Paradise learned of Bruno’s passing, local management reached out with their condolences and assured me they would retrain staff. The regional manager then contacted me and offered to pay the emergency veterinary bills if I would sign a release of claims. I declined to sign anything that would release my claims. Anyone considering boarding their pet here should research past incidents involving Pet Paradise resorts, including those reported in Pooler, Georgia in 2025. If you are considering boarding your dog here, I strongly recommend asking how they monitor dogs for signs of illness or injury and when a veterinarian is contacted. If I had known that information beforehand, I would never have brought Bruno to Pet Paradise.

We dropped our 3 little Shih-tzu's off for 3 days. We went over every detail about our babies and said they were very shy and do not need to participate in group activities. We were called on the second day stating our babies didn't seem to be interested in eating which is what happens when they get stressed out. We reminded the girl who called that we packed a ton of snacks that they like and were free to give them this. When we returned to pick them up, we saw that none of there snacks were opened and when we called them, they said they tried giving them canned tuna. The oldest of the 3 came home very very sick that required an ER visit because she had extremely bloody stools and vomiting. The other 2 much younger ones also had major diarrhea, but seemed to recover from whatever they caught at this facility. WARNING to all, these are young adults you are putting your babies care in their hands. They do not seem to be equally trained in any of the facilities programs. We also paid to have photos of our babies sent to us each day and when we didn't receive any, we were told that the intake girl forgot to put it in the notes that we pre-purchased this service. We spent $1274 at the ER for our oldest one (10 years old) because of either a lack of cleanliness in their surroundings at the facility OR the fact that they took it upon themself to offer our babies canned tuna WITHOUT our permission and that may have been expired. They are going to respond to this review with an apology for what happened and what THEY CAUSED, but I urge you to read their reviews as they clearly keep making the same mistakes and we personally will NEVER return here and will ensure everyone we know to seek other options before coming here. They clearly do not take our babies safety seriously or this wouldn't keep happening!

My experience with PetParadise was extremely frustrating—after waiting weeks for a response, I received no helpful follow-up, my pet’s booking was mishandled, and hidden service fees appeared at checkout. Their lack of communication and transparency left me feeling misled and ignored. I cannot recommend their service.
