Paypal doesn't deserve a single star. If you need help from customer service your in for a very long wait and then a service agent that won't listen. I wanted to send money to my daughter and she has always used PayPal so I used PayPal to send her $90.00. Since she has sent me money her picture shows up on my PayPal account and i just click on it and send the money the problem was that a scammer some how put a similar picture of her on PayPal with her name but a different email, the email address isn't visible. So i clicked om the wrong picture and my money went to the scammer Paypal customer service is non existant. I call the customer service number and the wait is hours. We finally had a 3 way call with PayPal and they accused us of trying to scam them. There's no consumers protection

I've been with PayPal for 10 years I notice they deal with a lot of over seas businesses so when one of the companies I ordered a tv from didn't get delivered I immediately contacted them via email they had me file a complaint it's been almost 10 days since I have heard from them I ask them to just refund my money since I didn't receive what I ordered and the company I ordered from turned out not to be the company my money went to bad business practice PAYPAL keep ur customers updated on their disputes better an do better backs checks on these fraudulent overseas companies. GIVE ME MY REFUND PLEASE

I've had a paypal account for well over a decade. Purchased a lot of things through them. Things are financially difficult for me right now. I've been without work for months during the pandemic. I've reached the point where I'm having to sell off some of my personal possessions to pay bills and stay afloat. When I sold some things through eBay and accepted payment through Paypal, they summarily locked my account and threw up a long to-do list for me to complete. No way to talk to a human. No way to get any help. I worked my way through their list, and when I did, they say they'll look over it and get back to me after 3 business days. Meanwhile, the buyer has paid, they have their money, and I'm broke. Sucks to be me, I guess. I hope Elon Musk has a nice Thanksgiving and enjoys playing with his rocket ships. My family and I won't.

To keep it short and sweet, I've been with paypal since 2003 and I don't purchase ANYTHING online if they don't offer an option to pay with PayPal. They've saved my butt countless times from lame sellers.

My account for no reason is locked and I have no idea on how to reach Customer Service as I live outside US, the help menu is not helping at all.

I have used PayPal for years expecting that the purchase protection would protect me in case of a seller not providing a product as described. I have not had an issue with a vendor until recently. At this point, I am very disappointed to find that PayPal did not protect my purchase. I made a purchase from irrperb.com for a folding camping chair. The company sent a bag that a very small chair might fit in, but no actual chair. The company sent a response to PayPal stating that they would refund the money if I returned the item they shipped to an address in China. Since the item was shipped from California, it is not acceptable to ask for it to be shipped to China. When I found that the postage would be almost as much as the original purchase, I wasn't willing to take the chance of being out even more money since the company may claim they never received the item back. Besides, since they would only refund the original cost, the difference in the purchase price and the shipping was very minimal and not worth the effort. Even if I received the refund, I would still be out the shipping charges. I know I should have researched prior to my purchase, but I now see multiple bad reviews for this company and the same issue with PayPal siding with the vendor. PayPal should discontinue the account for irrperb.com since there are so many claims. I do not feel that the claim by PayPal for purchase protection is true since they do not consider circumstances such as the vendor requesting a return to China instead of the original shipping location. They know it will cost so much that most people will not return the product.

Some consumers that do receive their orders tell BBB that items received are defective. Many consumers claim that they offered store credit instead of the refund they are seeking after their items are not received. Numerous consumers report a lot of difficulty in getting a response the company’s customer service department, despite multiple attempts to each them by telephone or email. Several consumers that do interact with the company’s customer service team are allegedly told that their products have been shipped and they are provided with a tracking number. Those consumers claim that the tracking numbers received from Gearbest.com are not valid and cannot be traced by the shipping carrier (FedEx, USPS). My experience as well as others detailed in various Internet review sites highlight the almost insurmountable challenge in obtaining a refund. If PayPal is really concerned about protecting us as consumers then these vendors, like Gearbest would be suspended.

I paid for some shoes with a Chinese company - after 2 months they never arrived. I raised a dispute (I have used Paypal for over 10 years) The seller provided Paypal with some false tracking information showing (apparent) delivery. Paypal refused my claim. Buyer Protection Policy ...whaaat? I'm now actively looking for a good alternative to Paypal - as soon as I find one I'll close my PP account.
