I have been using PayPal for over 24 years and am canceling my account today. When PayPal started, it was a wonderful company for buyer protection in case something went wrong with a purchase. After my most recent issue, I’ve decided my credit card gives better protection. PayPal took over a month for the resolution team to favor the seller although it took over two months for the item to arrive. I’ve been thoroughly disappointed in PayPal and am changing all my purchase options to credit card.

I've been a member of PayPal US for 17 years & have had reason to use their service a lot in the past year. Recently I was charged an Unauthorized Charge - presented proof in a timely fashion - & was denied a refund. NOT GOOD. Now, I know to ONLY use PayPal if I can afford to lose that specific amount of money because they DO NOT protect OUR money as they should. Their trust level has descended greatly.

Althought this is a great concept, their web code is MORONIC. Any and ALL ways of clearing problems require you to "login" which is IMPOSSIBLE when your problem is: Can't login because the company won't send a code to ANY source. All other solutions = Change password which is USELESS when Paypal isn't sending verification codes to either your email or phone. I missed $1000-1500 on buys discounts because these jerks wrote code that contradicts it's self and prevents it's OWN system from "solving" your problems. Let me say this once again for PAYPAL to read: ALL of your ways to fix getting in ask to "login". When the problem is, you can't login it's USELESS. CHANGE THE CODES OR GET REAL PEOPLE ON SUPPORT AT NIGHT. Don't force people to login to get help when they CANT.

Accounts gets hijacked with maximal security, thus losing good amounts of money...

Pathetic way to steal business money. They dispute your money without any reason. Only way to get money is to wait at least 6 months. Fraudsters

Used paypal for nearly 6 years for about 50% of my online purchases. I open disputes in only 8 cases (on over 200 purchases) because of online stores that went bankrupt and didn't refund (Anime-island, now having problems with nippon yassan), all ended in my favor. Now (29 April) i received a mail saying "you can no longer use our service" claiming misuse of the protection program (in that case why all cases ended in my favour?) even when the uses where totally justified. Their support its basically a bot saying that they dont known the precise cause of the ban and cant due anything about it.

They provide a good service overall, but far from perfect and very greedy on fees. Points I do like - convenience Points I don't like - Inflated spread on exchange rates, excessively high fees and they can take your money without your authorisation if they feel like it.
