I wouldn’t even give them one star. Made a claim request to use the emergency fund when my dog had to go to the emergency vet due to throwing up blood. It was denied due to them needing a video call first. Two problems, 1. I’m deaf, how is that going to work out? And 2. I wasn’t going to wait for the vet technician to tell me to take my dog to the emergency vet, when I already knew that. Pawp is a complete scam and will use any excuse they can to get out of paying for vet bills. Hell, Chewy hooks me up with an actual vet, and they don’t charge for that service. Got rid of Pawp, will be looking for a a real pet insurance provider who actually follow through on their obligations.

Hi Wally, I'm sorry to hear that Pawp didn't meet your expectations. At no point prior to admittance to the clinic did you mention a disability to our team, so it was difficult to provide an accommodation. Nonetheless, I have forwarded your concern to our Risk Team to assess the situation further. Sincerely, Your Pawp Support Team

Pawp was an absolute lifesaver when my sweet cat suddenly became very, very ill right before the weekend. I was able to easily activate the emergency fund and take him to the vet for the best possible care. Sadly, he didn't pull through despite their best efforts and I had to say goodbye to him. But because of the Pawp Emergency Fund, the only out of pocket cost I had was the cost of private cremation and an urn... Instead of being stuck with a $2800+ bill, Pawp covered everything with the fund so that my thoughts could be focused fully on my dear pet and saying goodbye. I recommend Pawp to literally every friend I have who owns a pet, and have even recommended it for the personal pets of the vet techs at the veterinarian's office. To my knowledge, many of them have it now too. It's just seriously worth the peace of mind to be able to know things are covered and affordable when your dear pet is sick.

Hi Jonathan, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm sorry for your loss. Please accept our condolences from everyone on the Pawp Team. As a cat dad to two tuxedos, I worry about their health every day, and I can't imagine what you're going through. I'm glad to hear the emergency fund provided assistance in a situation like this, though. If you have any further questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]! Sincerely, Your Pawp Support Team

I entered a claim in June,2022. My dog marble had to be put down June 12,2022. It is now August and I have no update on my claim. I no longer have a dog and you are still taking my money for insurance on a dog I no longer have, an no response on my claim with the vet bill that I submitted in June, 2022. Update Aug 9 They have now claimed that they do not have a claim under my email address. If they check the communication history chat they would have documentation that I spoke to a representative via chat about the claim, and the emails asking me to be patient because of how much claims they have to review. So now they have denied the claim based on not reporting within 14 days. If it's not the scam standard of operation to contact one of their vets if you can get one on the line while your dog is in distress, before actually contacting a vet that can physically help your dog, then it's them gaslighting your follow up emails on your claim and then conviently indicate that there is no claim under my email. When I complete another claim, they respond the next day with the denial explanation of not filing with in the 14 days. Then they also make it challenge to cancel the insurance now that it has been 2months since my dog passed away, with no link directly to cancel the membership only the instructions. I got more compassion from the petplate where I purchased the dog food from, that provided refunds and flowers after my dog died. Pawp has a Evil and disgusting set up. T. Shaw

This company is a complete sham. They have an arbitrary requirement to video call with their vet in the midst of an emergency. I had been communicating with their doctor all morning (and even attempted to video call her twice). I finally decided to take my dog to the emergency animal hospital after his face swelled and his breathing was shallow along with the vomiting and diarrhea I had already contacted her about. I communicated this with the vet and she was aware to the animal hospital. As I was the one driving, she wanted me to wait to video call with her until we were stopped (understandable). Once we arrived at the vet, she failed to respond when I told her that we had arrived, and before the doctors came out to get my puppy. Even though she was aware that we were headed to the emergency animal hospital and even though we tried to video call her twice in the same conversation, they still denied my claim based off of this arbitrary requirement. What a scam. I will be going through an arbitrator and/or filing this in magistrate court. This company is a joke. Edit to acknowledge the reply: pawp has conveniently refused to acknowledge that I had attempted a video call in the same conversation and that the emergency doctors came out to grab my puppy before their vet responded to my message about having arrived at the hospital. Please save the phony policies.

Hi Kendra, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and I'm sorry to hear about your experience. In this specific situation, I have to reiterate again that our Vet Pro was readily available to complete the video chat requirement with you. Both you and she were communicating consistently and speedily before you stopped responding to her. Sincerely, Your Pawp Support Team

My little Mini Schnauzer was in distress and I asked Pawp for advice. I've turned to them before when my other Mini was having a problem. I was very happy with how quickly the folks at Pawp got back to me and did a thorough job at sussing out the probable cause and a suggestion for the action I should take. I love this service and I'm very happy I have it!

My 11 year old Papillon was rowdy and hyper until she wasn't. I noticed her tongue was blue and she was crying. After consulting the DVM on xoom, I followed advice and ran her to the ER immediately. She could have died had I waited. For two days, as the meds kicked in, I got no sleep and couldn't eat. They sent me instructions on filing out the reimbursement but I was so exhausted I could barely function. Despite my inability to follow directions and complete incoherence, they worked with me. I cannot describe how grateful I am for their patience and life-saving advice. Worth every penny. Thank you so much Pawp. Customer forever. Kimberly Green

Hi Kim, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm so sorry to hear about the situation you experienced with your dog. I am incredibly happy to hear that she's doing better now, though! I haven't personally checked out your communication with us after the emergency occurred, but I'm willing to bet that you were coherent and followed instructions without any issue. These situations are stressful, so we understand! Sincerely, Your Pawp Support Team
