Highly recommend this program for Step 1 preparation only because I have experience on the Step 1 end, but I have heard great things about Step 2 prep as well. Dr. Francis is a very engaging lecturer and explains concepts in a way that I haven't heard before. I did the live, online version with two sessions of virtual tutoring and felt well prepared sitting for my third retake of step 1 and passed it!! Dr. Francis and his team are a Godsend. I hope this program continues providing help, hope, and encouragement to students for years to come. It is well worth the cost!

I passed step! I had taken and failed step twice before I heard about the pass program. Dr Francis has a gift when it comes to explaining how we should approach questions as medical students. I not only felt confident I would pass (and did) but I also feel confident going into 3rd year!

I will preface this review by saying that my pre-clinical performance leaves much to be desired. Save for once in a blue moon, you'd find me 'just' at the passing threshold for most of my pre-clinical assessments. Med school is hard. But Dr. Francis and the Pass Program showed me that it doesn't have to be that way. I began their live-online course throughout the month of April. I was nervous and frankly scared. On top of the time/money investment, my school had notified me that delaying my exam would risk graduation delays. Thanks to the efforts of the kind folks at the program, I not only passed USMLE Step 1, but I was allowed to begin my M3 year just in time with the rest of my peers! The Pass Program shows you how Step 1 is a physical, mental, and emotional test. You'll often find Dr. Francis mentioning how, "the testwriter wants to intimidate you," to obscure what would otherwise be easy recall. He shows you what he means through his daily morning questions. Waking up at first light, Dr. Francis goes through ~10-15 Step 1/2 questions and shows how his technique brings results. He has students tackle questions solo in front of the class, guiding them if they get lost or intimidated by the content. If you sign up, I HEAVILY RECOMMEND participating in these. He follows this up with deceptively simple lectures. What may look like a few slides are actually very in-depth conversational lectures centered on what is high yield for Step 1. He doesn't just regurgitate information (except for the fundamental concepts you just have to rote memorize and drill with partners). Dr. Francis will show you how to relate one concept to another, often plucking one factor of a disease or condition and revealing its connection to a seemingly isolated effect. He calls this empowerment, and I can attest to the euphoric feeling everyone in the room gets when it just clicks. This way of thinking lets you extrapolate the right answer from the question vignette. It goes even further to prepare you for what you'll see in your clinical rotations; because, after all, you'll be dealing with real patients soon enough! I had a fantastic time with the Pass Program, they helped me shore up content gaps, they helped me tame my test-taking anxiety, and most important of all- they taught me how to think like a good doctor. I wholeheartedly recommend the Pass Program. If you're not feeling comfortable with your Step 1 study performance, save yourself weeks of worry, headache, and exhaustion; go meet the wonderful people dedicated to seeing you empowered.

Anyone who doesn’t benefit from the pass program hasn’t let go of their old ways! The support, the knowledge, the community, the new understanding- you will never experience at any other program. This classroom setting, especially if you can come in person keeps you engaged and amazed with a totally new understanding of medicine. Submerge yourself completely in the program and be disciplined! If you’re not ready to take your exam seriously don’t waste your time or money because Dr Francis will challenge you and make you think!

The pass program is amazing in many ways. There’s online and onsite available. The pass program is not only a prep course but a community. Dr. Francis is an amazing physician and teacher and he combines his experience with the body systems and makes the material really stick. The tutors are phenomenal. Dr. Davis is awesome. You meet a lot of great future colleagues

As a Step 2 Live Online medical student, the PASS Program is what I needed. This interactive course has made a positive difference in how, and why I approach the clinical cases from a pathophysiology standpoint. Moreover, PASS Program allows for endless opportunities, to question, to think aloud, as well as to discuss the best management for patients in a cordial environment conducive to learning. I believe this is a great course, the PASS Program is giving it's learners (i.e. me) an opportunity to build and solidify our patient centered communication and reasoning skills. Thank you.

I really like the way that he reframes medical concepts and makes them much easier to understand and therefore remember.
