I ordered a sleeper sofa on June 26th
I ordered a sleeper sofa on June 26th. I paid over $1,300 in good faith for a sleeper sofa and never received it. I keep getting emails that my order is delayed. Four emails so far. How many times can an order be delayed? I called customer service at least ten times and I have gotten ten different stories, every time. After several inquiries by phone, I received from Overstock on July 17th: Thank you for contacting Overstock. My name is Michael and I'm happy to help you today. I've taken a look at the order in question and it appears that the partner warehouse is asking for 6-8 weeks for the item to ship out. This is likely a delay due to the COVID outbreak in the United States. If you're able to wait for the item, please allow a few more weeks for it to ship. If you're not able to wait for the item, please let us know and we will set up a cancellation request for you. Thank you so much for your patience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please let us know and we will happily follow up with you. Sincerely, Michael D. Overstock Customer Care On July 18th, I sent this email: I have talked to four people from Overstock. Each one has told me something different. I don't understand when Amazon can send something in two days (even with COVID) that sending me a basic sofa would talk two months. Can I contact the partner warehouse, so I can find out if I will ever actually receive the sofa? Here is the email I received from Overstock on Monday August 3rd. Good morning. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience and the inconsistent answers you are receiving - I want to provide the most accurate information possible, but there are a few hurdles that prevent us from providing a more precise delivery estimate, as explained below. The short answer is our partner is waiting for the long distance carrier to pick up your freshly manufactured item, and due to high demand I do not have a specific answer as to when exactly that will happen - it is very likely to happen this week, and when it does you will be emailed the tracking information. As stated before, our goal is to provide as much information as possible about an item before you order - important details are included in our Product Details section of the item, including information about this item not being manufactured by our partner until it is ordered. Here is how this is phrased on the product page on our website: On August 3rd I received an email from Allie E, Overstock Customer Care- Important Status Update for Overstock - your order will be shipped on 8/12/2020. I called Customer Care once again, August 12th And I was told it could be another month before I receive my order and it wouldn’t ship until the 17th Then I received this email later in the day on August 12th. We are contacting you regarding your order 296755630 for the Taylor Queen-size Sleeper Sofa by Klaussner. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to ship your order within the estimated timeframe previously communicated. We are working diligently to ship your order as soon as possible. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking details as soon as it is shipped. If you would like to cancel your order now, please contact our Customer Care team at 1-800-The-BIG-O (843-2446) and we will gladly assist you. If we do not hear from you, we will continue processing your order. Please note if we are unable to ship your order within 30 days of this notice, your order will be cancelled and we will issue a full refund back to your original form of payment. We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause. Sincerely, Overstock.com Customer Care So basically Overstock has kept my money for 50 days without honoring their promise to send me the sofa I purchases.
