On 10-21-25 I opened a savings account with OpenBank. On 1024-25 I deposited $3,000, On 11-05-25 I deposited $25,000, On 11-07-25 I deposited $50,000. After the last deposit at some point my account was blocked. I have called them numerous times with no explanation. One call I was told it could take up to 30 days. The last call they said there should be an update on 11-19-25. No explanation! This is very concerning, what if I urgently needed my money.

It took 3 weeks from when I transferred money to get it into the account. That was enough for me. I tried to transfer my money back out as soon as it was in there and it blocks my account every time I do. I have spoken with 3 people at Openbank and they all claim there is nobody there that can help me get my account restored and my money out. They are holding $40,000 of my money and I can't touch it. Not sure how this is even legal.

My experience with Openbank has been horrible. I deposited a substantial amount into their high yield savings account with no issues. When I had a real estate closing coming up and tried to withdraw my funds, they blocked my account citing “fraud.” I assumed it was a routine security check, but instead it became impossible to reach customer service, and when I finally did, each representative gave me a different explanation. This forced me to file a complaint with the CFPB. They eventually attempted to return my funds, but the transfer got stuck with their third-party processor. I was told I would need to wait an additional 30 days for the processor to release my money, which still has not happened. To make matters worse, they also took back the interest I had earned, citing fine print in their banking agreement. In summary, Openbank froze my money for months, made it nearly impossible to get help, and withheld the interest I had earned. The high APY they advertise is not worth the stress or risk.

Good high interest, but I just want to update my phone number and it’s taking forever. They told me they will call me back in a week but did not and now they are telling 3 more business days. I don’t understand this difficulty to change my phone number. It’s ridiculous. The transfers take a long time too. I really they improve and things won’t get worst.

Quite literally the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Customer service is kind but useless and unable to resolve problems. I transferred a large sum of money from another long standing bank account which was flagged and rejected for no apparent reason. Rather than immediately return those funds, Open Bank has held this money, essentially an interest free loan to them, and claim it will take 30 BUSINESS DAYS (SIX WEEKS) for the money to be returned. I am still waiting and ready to file an official complaint with FDIC, CFPB, and the Federal Reserve.

Every time I try to transfer a large amount of money out of the bank, they canceled my transfer, even though I am under their daily transfer limit. It makes me appear unprofessional to the people I am working with. I am closing this bank account.

Hatte bei der Openbank ein neues Konto eröffnet und für eine Woche testweise genutzt. Da ich einerseits mit der Benutzerfreundlichkeit der Webseite nicht zufrieden war und inzwischen hier viele negative Erfahrungen gelesen hatte, hatte ich mich entschlossen, die Kontoeröffnung zu widerrufen. Widerruf/Kündigung per Fax geschickt und um schriftliche Bestätigung gebeten. Die kam natürlich nie. Nach MONATEN dann plötzlich eine Email in der Inbox, „man hätte von meinem Wunsch der Kündigung erfahren“ und ich müsse diese Email beantworten, um die Kündigung durchzuführen. a) Akzeptiert die Openbank keine Kündigung per Mail b) konnte man das Konto nicht per Webseite schließen c) ist eine Kündigung per Fax wirksam, das Unternehmen hat kein Recht, mir eine besondere Form aufzuzwingen Das alles bestätigt mich in meiner Meinung, daß die Openbank alles andere als seriös ist. Bei sowas werde ich mein Geld bestimmt nicht anlegen.
