Just returned from the Untamed Iceland trip with Overseas Adventure Travel. What an experience! The majesty of this small country was on full display: waterfalls, ice caves, glaciers, geysers, black beaches, vibrant city life, visits to farms, horseback rides--we did it all. It was our first time traveling via tour, and OAT exceeded our expectations. The key to the terrific adventure was our guide, Villi V, from Iceland himself. His insights, suggestions, his care for the whole group, his humor, his expertise, his humanity made this trip. There were four of us who traveled in this group--two OAT first-timers and two long-time OAT travelers. All four of us were smitten with our guide Villi, with Iceland, and with the OAT tour, sites, timing, pacing, variety, food. Also with our tour companions! A fascinating couple of weeks. FYI, we four booked our own travel there and back (including various transfers, hotel, etc) because we wanted to get to Iceland early both to handle jet-lag and to spend time in Reykjavik on our own before the tour began. We are SO glad we did. We figured out the lay of the city ourselves which made the return time at the end of the OAT trip more navigable. Additionally on our front end personal time, we booked tix at Harpa to hear the Icelandic National Symphony for the back end of our trip! Sublime! And an experience that we could not have had had we waited until our return to Reykjavic to try to find relevant tickets. Plus our amazing Villi guided us to an outstanding restaurant pre-concert. Wow. Just wow. Villi is a gem and Iceland offers a vision of what a country can be in all the best ways. A transformative visit. Thanks OAT, and thanks Villi.

Traveled with OAT to Egypt/cruise down the Nile September 2026 and had a superb trip with the best, most knowledgeable tour guide and ship staff who were so attentive, accommodating & friendly. OAT made the trip wonderful from the second we landed in Egypt until they saw us off at the airport. Loved all the adventures in the itinerary as well as extra fun things on the ship for us to get to know Egypt culture better. Too many favorite things to pick one but possibly visiting a village, school and eating at a home would be on the top of the list. Our tour guide Muhammad Metwally gave us so much useful information to be able to safely & economically enjoy our trip. Plan to travel with OAT again, it was an awesome 1st trip with this tour company.

I have been to Scotland before, but this was my first OAT trip. The tour was outstanding. Our Trip Leader Dave C was incredible, organized, knowledgeable, informative and he genuinely cared about us having an excellent experience. One of the aspects I liked the most was the intentional approach to present both historical and modern Scotland, both famous sites and lesser known but also wonderful sites. I enjoyed learning a great deal. Our tour leader Dave kept us safe and kept the group together and moving along despite different mobility levels.

Australian trip: The trip was great and our guide, Michael did a fantastic job keeping us on track and providing many historical facts. There are areas that require a modification or addition to this particular travel experience. 1. The Airport pickup was confusing until I saw a person standing, looking like he was waiting for someone. I ask him if he was waiting for a particular person or group. It turns out, he was our transport to the hotel. Need improvement in communication. Again - Need more luggage porters to move luggage. -Bus at Sydney airport had Overheard spaces Wi-Fi or charging ports on BUSSES 2. After settling in the first evening the orientation was too long. It needs to be broken up! Everyone was tired. 3. For the price of the trip, more meals should be included. First day in Melbourne, my meal at the sports bar and grill was extremely late. The steak dinner during our second evening meal, the steak was terrible. The steal was thin, much gristle fibers, tough with one glass of wine. Also, the planned, included and anticipated dessert was never served! It wasn't worth it. A small amount of food also! 3. At several hotels, no bellhop or service person never picked or delivered our LUGGAGE to our rooms. Either better communication is needed or we should be informed that we are responsible for taking our own luggage to our rooms. One would think our cost of trip would cover include this service. 4. Most of the buses for tours were very tight, no overhead space for personal items and very tight space for leg and foot comfort. Being on many tours in the past, the tour buses on this trip were very uncomfortable. The bus from Alice Springs to Yulara was very uncomfortable and very tight. 4. Some morning could start a little later in the morning. 5. The 5-Star Hotel in Sydney had no water or complementary WATER OR MILK IN REFER!!! There were only two hotels that delivered our luggage to our rooms. Other than the items above, the trip was great.

Although the flight arrangements/pretrip extension was a nightmare when flights were arranged by OAT, we loved the recent trip to New Zealand. Yes, some hitches- Doubtful Sound, not Milford, but still fine; hotel without power for one night into the next midday but Melissa dealt with it all with grace, brevity and honesty. She is a gem. She listened to travelers and arranged things that they mentioned as interests. She brought local treats to taste. She made all ages feel welcomed, important and cared for. Great job, Melissa!

I was very nervous about traveling to Africa, but I am so grateful my husband pushed me out of my comfort zone. This was truly the most amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience! Honestly, I don’t think I ever would have taken this trip on my own, but traveling with a group made all the difference. OAT (Overseas Adventure Travel) lived up to everything I had heard and read about. From the organization and planning to the itinerary and support, everything was incredibly well done. Our tour leader, Innocent, was absolutely amazing. He was knowledgeable, professional, kind, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire journey. I had never traveled with a tour group before, and I was initially unsure about what to expect. Once I met our group and Innocent, I immediately felt safe and secure, even while traveling in a foreign country. If you are looking for a travel company that is well organized, thoughtfully planned, and provides a wonderful group experience, I highly recommend OAT! And if you are considering Kenya and Tanzania, I highly recommend Innocent as your trip leader. Hands down, he was the best! 🦁🌍❤️

I would never recommend OAT for anyone who wants even the slightest bit of independence when traveling. Our itinerary as provided in the final documents changed significantly on 6 different days two days before our trip started and we also returned over two hours late on two days of our tour for no unavoidable reason. We had to cancel and repeatedly change dinner reservations at the last minute as well as a tour booked for what was scheduled as a free day. Information pre-tour was also poor for anyone who chose to book their own air. Incorrect and missing information made it necessary to contact OAT several times after receiving our “final documents”. If you are looking for a tour where you simply follow a tour leader and have no interest in independent exploration or dining, OAT might be acceptable, but for me, their poor planning was a huge disappointment and caused me to miss several things that were important to me.

Our trip leader, Taha Abderrahman, made the experience great! He was very well informed. The knowledge he shared with us covered all conceivable aspects of Moroccan history and society.
