Do not Book in advance because they significantly reduce the price. I was the only one on the trip that paid over $5000. while most paid $999. and they had better rooms. The quality of room is not based on the amount you paid it is based on how many OAT trips you have taken. Except for one excellent location the quality of the accommodation was at best a 3.5 star, my room. The air route I was advised to take was the longest air time of all participants. Don't trust the call center.

Baltics trip Sept 2026. Excellent tour leader made the trip. I really enjoyed learning about the history of each of these small countries, especially the recent Soviet occupation and how they have built back after their independence. Hotels were mostly good but not great, although all locations were excellent. Included meals were “set menu” rather than choice which was a negative (and wasn’t clear to us before we travelled). Great local guides and enough free time to explore on our own.

I purchased a trip to Costa Rica during the Labor Day sale. The sales person told me I needed to pay the next day to keep the reservation. Fair. I explained I was waiting for a new credit card on which I wanted to put the cost of the trip. I explained I would not purchase the trip if I could not change credit cards the next week. The sales person PROMISED me I could change credit cards when my new card arrived. I provided my emergency credit card to the sales agent. More than 1 month and 3 calls later, the company has not billed the correct credit card and has not credited the first credit card account. Three people have lied to me and told me this very simple change could be done. This would have been my third trip using OAT. I cannot with a clear conscience recommend this company. Beware that nothing stated is confirmed and nothing will be put in writing. The previous trip I took with them involved being swindled by one of their preferred stores. I hope you learn from my mistakes. And if you go to Morocco, make sure the tour guide teaches you how to haggle correctly. Going to a carpet store is not an educational excursion, it is a money grab. Whatever price you are told, reduce by 80% and then you might not get ripped off. I could have bought a similar rug for less than half the price if I had simply purchased it in the USA.

My experience with Overseas Adventure Travel was absolutely awesome. We visited Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia/Herzegovina and Slovenia. Our trip leader/director was exceptional. Lili (Ljiljana) Cubra never let us down. She was on 24/7 for 17 days which I'm sure periodally was exhausting even with a pretty on time, coordinated group of 16. We started in Dubrovnik and Lili met us at the hotel to do a short walk in neighborhood. Our local guides were so knowledgeable and engaging. Martina in Dubrovnik. Vera gave us an hour talk on her experience living in Dubrovnik during the 1991-1994 war. So so interesting. Going into Kotor Montenegro, Steven, our guide did a wonderful talk on that city and as a local was so informative. What I really loved was being guests in locals home for dinner. Dario at his Starimlin Tavern dinner and olive oil production outside Dubrovnik was divide and entertaining. In Sarajevo our dinner with locals will be ingraded in my head forever. The most profound take away from my trip was a talk from a war veteran Mr. Zeljko in Sarajevo. He was amazing and brought me to tears with his experiences over 35 years ago, which felt like yesterday to me and which has had everlasting effects on his while life. There is so much positive to comment on during the 17 days with Lili. Her home village was quite a wonderful experience and meeting her family. Lili at some points had a lot to deal with short illnesses in the group and the coordination the changes, forced her make. She is a wonderful person and with her experience and empathy she should be nominated for OAT group leader of the year! I don't have any constructive ideas to make the trip better because it was the best already. I always have some little changes that I can add to make a trip better/ different but not this time! Thank You OAT, Peggy

Tremendous value and outstanding educational experience. But what truly made this experience 5-star, first class, top notch was our amazing trip experience leader, Hussien. His knowledge of ancient and present day Egypt, combined with his expert guidance, patience (as he herded cats—us) and his witty sense of humor, made this experience one we will always cherish!

Our guide was very knowledgeable about Iceland and all the activities were well planned- he was able to adjust the itinerary according to the weather. He spent time getting to know everyone and made sure everyone was okay on some of the more challenging activities. I enjoyed the host family experience and the other activities. It was well organized and everything went smoothly.

My adventure with OAT was my first and I was most pleased with this company for our recent Jewels of Bohemia trip. Our guide, Kamil, was not only pleasant but extremely knowledgeable about each of the areas that we visited. The inineriaries were very structured and there was lots to see, but he also was clued in to each of the individuals and said 'This is your trip-do whatever you want'. While on the bus going to our destination, Kamil gave much of the history and culture for the particular area of the country we were visiting. I had special dietary needs and he made sure I was accomodated at every meal. Everything was on time and he sent out each night what to expect the next day so we could plan accordingly. I would strongly recommend this tour and will likely plan another OAT adventure However, some reviewers were not happy with customer service and booking issues, reporting long wait times, dropped calls, and unhelpful responses when trying to resolve problems. A few other people also felt that complicated flight arrangements and poor pre-trip planning caused unexpected stress and severe disappointment during their travels. People also noted occasional lodging drawbacks or missing minor services like luggage assistance at certain hotels.

I misunderstood the survey. I thought it was asking about my trip not the trip protection. As far as the protection plan, I have submitted a claim about a week ago. Still no resolution. I really can’t review this until I get a response from them. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience with OAT. My guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his native New Zealand and went over and above to keep us busy and happy. This was my second trip with OAT and both were excellent! All hotels on both trips were also excellent! Thanks for all your friendly agents that I talked with. They answered my many questions in a prompt way!
