Nexamp is committed to healing the planet via alternate energy sources, mainly solar. They allow customers to buy into this mission, thereby reducing the individual/family's carbon footprint and saving money in the long-run. The model is a bit unusual, as it actually pays your energy provider (ie, National Grid, NYSEG, etc.) for the credits you earn, as you pay Nexamp. The amount they pay on your behalf is reduced from your energy bill. I won't get into how and what they do in detail. You can read that on their website. (Just google Nexamp.) I will say, though, if everyone in the area they serve subscribed to this company, our collective carbon footprint would be greatly reduced. I am very happy to be one "bristle in the brush" Nexamp is using to clean our environment.

After a difficult time, a senior exec called me!
I have had a tough time understanding the Nexamp cost. For almost 10 days, the phone experience was terrible. Out of the blue, Erik, a senior VP called. He took great measure to research and explain our account. We made some adjustments, and we are going to give Nexamp another try in hopes of seeing the true savings expounded. And, I really appreciated Erik speaking with us several times thru this. The customer service line was terrible, but Erik was wonderful

Hi Linda, thank you for your feedback. Our records indicate that you signed up with Nexamp on 9/29/20. In May, once your farm in Maine went live, we sent out a reminder email with a refresher regarding our billing system. We do apologize if you were not able to read this email before your first Nexamp invoice was sent out.
Nexamp does operate on a two-bill system currently, and our team is always available to help answer any questions. You should have seen your electric bills reduce dramatically when the Nexamp credits were applied to your Versant bill this summer.
I do see that you were already able to speak to some of our team members, but please let us know if there is anything else that we can help clear up. We are sorry that your first experience with Nexamp was not entirely positive. We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM EST at (855) 727-4636.

Hello, thank you for writing in and providing this feedback. As a refresher, Nexamp does not invoice our customers until we have received confirmation from the utility (in your case, National Grid) that the credits have been applied to the customer's account.
Unfortunately, based on the information that you provided, I could not locate your account in our system. We would be more than happy to speak with you and resolve the situation if you would be so kind as to contact our team. We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM EST at (855) 727-4636.

Cancel this and put me back on Electricity Maine ASAP.
I received a bill from these people out of the blue for $70.46. I am a disabled and deaf elderly woman 72 years old and only on Social Security fixed income. I only pay through CMP as I get ELP through York County Community Action Program as I have a very low income. You need to cancel this account, Invoice # INV00882869 and put me back on Electricity Maine as my supplier ASAP. Karen J. Lord

Hello, thank you for the feedback. We take your concerns seriously and want to provide you with a detailed response. On September 28, 2020 you signed a contract with Nexamp to receive 15% off the purchase of solar energy credits from one of our projects in Maine. This discount will reduce the amount of money you pay for electricity, which we believe is a valuable benefit for individuals on a fixed income.
You are still receiving your electricity from Central Maine Power, but your bill to them is reduced by the value of the community solar credits you receive from Nexamp. We provide those credits to you at a 15% discount, so a $100 in credits only costs you $85. This savings can be very beneficial to those with a lower income, and Nexamp prides itself on supporting those that would most benefit from community solar. You can utilize both community solar and ELP, which you get through York Community Action Program, to maximize the value of both programs.
You contacted Nexamp on October 12th with the support of York Community Action Program. At that time, we provided you with a copy of your signed contract. You did not request to cancel your service at that time, but we will consider this complaint a request for cancellation. As a show of good faith, we will waive the bill you received from us. It typically takes several cycles for CMP to remove you from the community solar program so you will likely see additional credits on your bill. These will be yours, free of charge.
With this cancellation you will no longer be eligible to receive your 15% discount, but should you ever wish to re-sign up with Nexamp we will gladly place you on our waiting list.

Great until you try to cancel
The sign up process was easy and the credits delivered as promised, so I had no issues until recently. I got solar panels installed on my rooftop and no longer need the Nexamp credits so I've tried contacting them several times over the past month to cancel and received no response except for the automated 'email received - do not reply' response. In the mean time I've been invoiced twice more for about $200 each. I now have close to $700 in ComEd excess payment so I guess I won't have a ComEd bill for the next several years (since with my own panels my bill is basically the $13-something connection fee) - I know I get to keep the credit but that doesn't help my budget for this month that I'm basically double paying (Nexamp and for my own panels). I'm frustrated that the bills continue to roll in and I haven't even received a response from a real person to confirm they're working on it or provide a time frame, and now I'm seeing on these reviews that it can take months to get it canceled? So if that's true they should tell you that up front and also be quicker to get that process started as soon as requested, not take over a month to even respond. The website says 'cancel anytime' like it should be a quick and easy thing to do, but it turns out that's not the case. So I would say all good experiences if you plan to stick with the service for awhile, but be cautious if you plan to cancel, it's not as easy as they make it sound.

NexAmp came up with a more than fair solution to some misunderstanding I had with accounting practices
I did not fully understand how solar credits worked. I spent the time with NexAmp management to review my initial misunderstandings.
Nex Amp Management and I worked out a mutual solution to everyone's satisfaction.
I have to say Eric, at NexAmp, was great to work with. Together we came up with a solution that we both felt was fair and appropriate. Nex Amp's Management addressed my issues straight on and quickly. They took the time to educated me on the accounting of solar credits.
Thank You Eric of NexAmp for your effort to satisfy me complete.

Canceled my account 4 months ago as I…
Canceled my account 4 months ago as I was not seeing the savings they told me I would receive. I was told on the phone it may take up to three months to cancel, which I accepted, even though no other company I ever worked with ever took anywhere near that long. Well, it has now been 4 months and I just got notified that I will be billed once more. They need to stop this and the BBB really needs to look more closely at their business practices. If you are smart, steer clear of this company.
