I got a huge bill this month with no explanation whatsoever. Not sure how $450 saves me 20% on an electric bill of less than half that. Why don’t you explain all that on your invoice, or offer the kind of plans Ameren does, where you can smooth out your monthly charges with a flat fee each month?

Hi Betsy. Thank you for writing in regarding your experience with Nexamp. We apologize that this was not an ideal billing experience for you. Generally, we can expect subscribers to expect larger invoices with periods of summer solar generation. When the sun is at it's strongest, our solar farms produce more energy credits which can then be applied to winter electricity bills when generation is not as high. Because of the seasonality of solar energy, the 20% savings can be seen as an annual savings. Additionally, many utility companies across the company have increased their supply rates in recent months. For example, Ameren's supply rates have increased dramatically this summer. Because Nexamp uses these rates to calculate the value of the solar energy credits, customers may have seen credits increase in value as well.
