I have been a customer for almost a year and they have been saving me money. As others have stated, the billing took a little bit to get used to, but everyone at the company I spoke with was friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate the time they took to explain everything to me.

What a joke!
So signed up, thinking that I would save money and instead of saving money, I paid out even more money on top of my current electricity bill. I was told it would take three months to see savings and within three months I received $139 bill and just noticed five days later that I have a $375 bill come due in January. I know the company is really good about explaining, but there is no explaining or understanding. I signed up, thinking that it would lower my monthly cost, but it increased my monthly cost by quite a bit.
I do not need any more explanation from the company. I just hope that they pay their employees well for the amount they are charging those that are signed up with them.
I canceled with them today, but it won’t take affect until March. Until I’m done with them I may have to take out a loan to pay what they claim I owe.
Don’t fall for it like I did as it is a joke and will cost you way more than you save.
Feel like I’m being taken advantage of but legally nothing I can do but pay it.
If only I could lock my customers in to paying three months in advance for some thing, they won’t ever see a return on that would be nice. However, I wouldn’t be able to rest my head at night. Good luck Nexamp!

Hello,
Thank you for writing in. We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you are facing and can certainly do our best to help. While we understand that you have canceled your account with us, we want to make sure your needs are met.
By being a part of our program, we are providing solar energy credits that offset your electricity costs with your utility, Central Maine Power (CMP). The design of the program in Maine is that you receive credits for what your share of our solar farm has generated, but at a 15% discount.
When you first signed up with our program, we analyzed your usage and electricity costs to estimate a share size on our solar farm that should cover close to 90% of your electricity costs for the year. In order to cover these costs, it is typical for our customers to produce more credits than what they need in the summer months when days are long and sunny, to still substantially reduce their utility costs in the winter when solar energy production is less. The excess credits that are generated in the summer months will remain on your CMP account and will be used during those months where your usage is greater than the energy credits generated by the solar farm.
We recognize that receiving a higher-than-normal invoice can be challenging, and Nexamp is certainly willing to work with you to align on a payment plan that works for both parties if needed. We do not charge late fees or interest, and do not impact credit scores. Our team is committed to helping our customers maximize their savings.
If you would find it helpful, you are also welcome to send in a copy of your recent utility bill for us to review your credits and savings. Our support team can be reached at 855-727-4636 or [email protected]. We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM EST.
We hope the details above help address the concerns you raised in your review and we’re sorry to lose you as a subscriber.

Terrible
These people need to be investigated. I tried to cancel them on May 8th when I moved to maine on Nov 1 it still wasn't cancelled. Paid a $300 plus bill on Nov 3rd and just got another one for $133. I owed them nothing and yet I'm still getting bills. They are the worse and I will not give them another cent!

Hello Laura,
Thank you for your feedback. Let us first start by apologizing that you have had a poor experience with our organization. We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional customer experience and we take feedback from our customers seriously. We appreciate you reaching out and explaining your circumstances and hope we can assist with your needs.
When you request to cancel with Nexamp, we process that cancelation in our system. However, the procedure is not immediate since we have to work with your utility provider to complete the removal from our solar farm. As for the timeline to adjust customers’ accounts in Massachusetts, we are limited to 4 submissions to the utility a year per the program’s regulations. These are submitted each quarter so that there is a consistent schedule to make changes for our thousands of customers. Whether it be to adjust subscription sizes on our farm or process cancelation requests, the process is not immediate, and it is referenced in the contract you signed with Nexamp.
It is also important to note that Nexamp bills our services in arrears, so there is always a delay between when you see credits on your utility account and when we bill you. This explains why you received and paid Nexamp invoices after your cancelation request date.
After reviewing your account, we recognize that your circumstances have been unique. We do apologize for the frustration and confusion this has caused you. We have since rectified the situation on our end, and we will be reaching out to you individually to go over our next steps as to how we plan to make this right.
This now means that your account has been officially canceled with Nexamp, and your balance is up to date. There is no further action needed on your part.
Thank you for your time as a Nexamp community solar subscriber.

I called Nexamp about bill and spoke to…
I called Nexamp about bill and spoke to a very nice lady who tried to explain why I am receiving a bill from them.
It seems I signed up for this service which I don't remember.
I then asked for a detailed explanation of their services and how the billing is done. It's been about a month now and still no email or letter. Since then I have paid the 300.00 fee.
After looking at my bill from National Grid for 3 months seems Nexamp made almost 400.00 which saved me around 15.00 . Can't really see how this benefits me.
The only one making a tremendous profit is Nexamp. Needless to say calling to cancel this service.
So people don't fall for this as I have.
Live and learn .

Hello Bill,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
While we apologize for any confusion, our records indicate that you received an email from the same team member that you spoke to on 11/7, the afternoon after you had called in. This email contains a written explanation of how our program works, and where you can find the reductions that are being applied to your costs with National Grid. Additionally, a senior member of our team has reached out to speak with you on 11/13 to see how we can further assist. Please be sure to check your email inbox to make sure you can see the information we have been sending you.
Overall, Nexamp is applying solar credits that reduce what you owe back to National Grid. The design of the program in your area is that you only pay for the solar credits that you are using for the month. This means that you will not be overpaying for solar credits and will always receive a 10% discount on the credits you use for the month. For example, if we reduced your utility bill by $100, you would owe Nexamp $90 in return, saving you $10 that you would have had to pay for the utility. Since the savings can fluctuate throughout the seasons, we recommend that you view your overall savings to be about 10% of your annual electricity costs. Nexamp is proud to offer the highest discount in your area.
Our team is committed to helping you see the benefits of our program, and we welcome the chance to speak with you further. If you have additional questions regarding your Nexamp account, you can reach our support team at 855-727-4636 or [email protected]. We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM EST.

Signed up for solar credits
Signed up for solar credits, but was impossible to cancel and they bill 90 days in arrears. This company is fraudulent or incompetent. Sign up for other green energy.
Response from NexampNov 30, 2023
Hello Heather,
Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear that you weren’t satisfied with your experience.
After reviewing our records, we can see that you requested to cancel your Nexamp account in September of this year. Confirmation of this request was sent to your email on file, which outlines the timeline required to complete this. Since we have to work with your utility to remove you from our solar project, the process is not immediate, and it is referenced in the contract you signed with Nexamp.
It’s additionally important to note that Nexamp bills our services in arrears, so there is always a delay between when you see credits on your utility account and when we bill you. This is because we are waiting for confirmation from the utility that credits have been placed on your account. Every credit that was placed on your utility account was provided to you at a 15% discount.
Please know that our team is committed to making sure your needs are met. Therefore, we will reach out to you personally to learn more and make sure your account is closed.
Thank you for your time as a Nexamp community solar subscriber.

Hello there,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and we apologize for any confusion regarding your Nexamp account.
Our records show that you signed a valid agreement with Nexamp in December of 2021. Please refer to the email our team had sent you on 10/25 which has the document attached for your reference. You were placed on our Bangor Solar Project, which at the time was in the beginning stages of construction. We had enrolled you in our program prior to our solar farm going live in order to confirm that you would have a reserved spot. In our attempt to keep you updated on our progress and what to expect next, we sent over 15 emails to the email on file. Most notably, you were sent an email when your solar farm went live letting you know credits were on the way, as well as an email with information regarding your first invoice. These updates were also sent to you via postal mail.
When you signed up with Nexamp you agreed to receive solar energy credits by sizing your “share” of the solar farm to offset your average monthly costs. These credits can be located in the "Other Charges/ Adjustments" section of your utility bill listed as "CDG Credit-Applied to This Bill". Nexamp will only charge customers for their solar energy credits when they use them. Any invoice you receive from Nexamp is for solar energy credits that have been applied to your account and used towards your electricity costs in a given month. We invoice you for this credit, but at a 10% discount.
As for when you cancel with Nexamp, we process that cancelation immediately. However, in New York, we can only send updated customer lists monthly. Once National Grid receives the updated customer lists, it can take 1-2 months for them to remove you from their system and stop applying credits. During that 90-day window you can still receive solar energy credits that reduce your National Grid bill. This is why the original contract you signed with us, and the cancelation email we provided you with on October 27th mentioned that the process can take up to 90 days.
Lastly, your reviews assert that we are a scam, however we respectfully believe your comments are not accurate. We are a veteran-founded business committed to helping people decarbonize their life. We operate in numerous states and help tens of thousands of customers save money on their electricity bills every month. We have also spent a significant amount of time researching and responding to your complaint because we are committed to providing the best service possible for all our customers.
We hope the details provided can help you move forward, however, if you have additional questions regarding your Nexamp account, you can reach our support team at 855-727-4636 or [email protected]. We are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM EST.
