9-Mar-2020: I am following up on my original one-star review on 25-Apr-2020 of Newark, which I left posted, with a two-star review since, after a lot of work on my part, Newark did straighten out the financial aspects of that review so I figure I at least owe them an update. However, I’m a bit disturbed by the fact that I got nicked $16 to ship a $2 part by Priority mail (which only cost $7.50) that was part of that same order. Newark has gone to the bottom of my list on my order of preference as far as vendors go because of my recent experience. They seem to carry a few parts that I find difficult to get from other vendors so I may end up ordering from them again although if I do, I’ll be doing that rather reluctantly. Once trust is lost it can be very hard to regain. At this point Newark has lost my trust.

Wish I read these before I ordered. Very good prices for components, but if you have a problem, don't get in a hurry. Ordered 10 items in different quantities. Got 9 correct. Order #464004, Line Item 7 was supposed to be 10 2uf capacitors, and I got 10 #6 terminals. The bag containing the terminals had the correct capacitor label attached. Evidently, the packer can't tell capacitors from huge #6 terminals. Emailed customer service right away. Two days later, called them. Off shore both times. So far, no response at all. OK, I'll give them some slack due to the pandemic, but at LEAST they could send an Email saying "we're working on it". Think I'll go back to Mouser and pay the prices...

Newark overcharged freight cost by $6.83. According to a notice on its website (at checkout), "UPS flat rate now $7.99 on orders 2lbs or less! For orders that ship to a PO Box/APO/FPO address, please call us at 1-800-463-9275" I ordered 10 capacitors (PN: 2TPE330MFB). Each capacitor measures 3.5mm x 2.8mm x 1.9mm. All 10 weigh much less than 1 oz. Nonetheless, they were packed three pouches: one that measured 11.25 in. x 15 in.; a second that measured 10 in. x 7.5 in.; and a third that measured 7 in. X 7 in. I BELIEVE THIS WAS AN ATTEMPT TO INCREASE THE WEIGHT BEYOND 2 POUNDS!! Nevertheless, the weight on the outside of the package indicated the whole package weighed 1 pound. Newark charged me $14.82 for freight, and thus overcharged me $6.83 for freight.

Return Policy & Customer Service is horrendous. Over the last 3 months I have received qty-3 out of about qty-20 7" touchscreen displays with cracked screens. I have no problem with that, I just can't get anyone to respond about returning them for a replacement. I filled out the on-line RMA Request forms and all I hear is crickets. I have tried calling customer service many times and each time the Agent is obliviously not located in the U.S., has no access to any data (Order#, Inv#, etc.) and is useless. The price is right but I might as well buy from other vendors at a slightly higher price with efficient return policy and good customer service. With Avnet's 2019 sales at $19.5B, yes Billion, they can afford to fund an acceptable Customer Service Dept.

As others are saying, Newark is no longer responding to emails or feedback messages. It appears from other reviews that they are accepting payments but not shipping orders. I have enjoyed my relationship with MCM for years and more recently, I've not had a problem with Newark. Now I have to wonder if they have gone out of business or have had their web site hacked. I am not getting a response to feedback or emails and the telephone number just hangs up on me whenever I call. AS a reseller I am no longer shown reseller pricing, everything is priced at list. I'll not place another order until I am able to speak to someone about these issues.

Ordered 2 fog machines in the beginning of March. I have never received a receipt or any email showing confirmation of these two items. Money was pulled from bank account. I have emailed and no response. At this point I feel scammed out of my money as I have no way to prove it other than bank statement.

Looks like I had the same issue as others. Placed an order and the shipping calculator was unable to determine shipping charges at that time. Received an invoice a couple days later showing $131 worth of shipping charges for $123 worth of product. $131 for UPS ground, what a rip-off. In this day and age, how can you not calculate shipping charges when placing an order? Because their plan is to soak you with shipping charges. Go to Digikey or Amazon, stay far away from this scamming company. I sent an email to customer service and filled out their order survey without response. Order #338768.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! After successfully disputing a credit card charge involving Newark’s tech. support, they attempted to make 3 unauthorized very large charges on my credit card which fraud alert notified me of.This is obviously a corrupt business. STAY AWAY!!
