Do not believe what you see on your booking
Our company decided to switch to Navan and the business travel has been pretty straight forward (how hard is it to book a flight WAS - MSP really) except you can't book two people on the same flight itinerary, and hotel search comes up with a bunch of "out of policy" listings because their search doesn't use the same criteria as policy. In my infinite wisdom I booked two personal trips, to my defense the first one gone wrong after I already booked the second one. On the first one I was supposed to pick up a car next to the hotel then drop it off at the airport, Navan website showed correct locations, Hertz had a different story, I spent hours on the phone with Navan while trying to hike Rockies. They did refund the difference months later but vacation was significantly impacted. On a second trip I had to cancel two of the flights due to an emergency, I would have had Amex travel insurance reimburse everything but Navan was showing I had airfare credits so Amex wouldn't reimburse. When I tried to rebook the trip a few months later Navan said "oops just kidding, you don't have any credits"... still trying to sort this out. They said the case will take two weeks to review (after over an hour with an agent) and it's been three, 40+ minutes on chat trying to get the status. Bottom line if you have to use it for business and someone else deals with the consequences maybe it'll be fine, for personal it's very much not worth the aggravation.
