1 star — Extremely frustrating implementation and virtually nonexistent support when things went wrong I would strongly recommend doing a very thorough technical review of Navan before committing to it, particularly if your company relies on NetSuite and wants a clean, auditable source of truth for travel and expense data. Our implementation has been far more complicated and frustrating than it should be. The biggest issue has been the NetSuite integration. After encountering problems with the integration, we revoked the authorization and attempted to reconnect it, only to find that we couldn't simply start the integration over. We have spent significant time trying to break the existing configuration and rebuild it from scratch. We also ran into issues with the NetSuite certificate. Navan continued providing the same certificate even though we were specifically trying to establish a completely fresh configuration. The process for resetting the integration and obtaining a genuinely new configuration was not straightforward. **What made the situation considerably worse was Navan's customer support.** We repeatedly contacted Navan by email explaining the problem and asking for someone with the appropriate NetSuite/integration expertise to help us. Instead of actually troubleshooting the issue, we repeatedly received variations of the response that they were "trying to find someone" who could help. And then we waited. We had to follow up repeatedly just to get an update. There was no clear owner of the issue, no meaningful troubleshooting plan, and no reasonable timeline for resolution. We were essentially left trying to diagnose and dismantle the integration ourselves while waiting for Navan to find someone internally who understood their own integration. For an enterprise product that sits directly in the middle of a company's travel, payment, accounting, and ERP workflows, this level of support is unacceptable. When an integration breaks, you need someone who understands the system and can take ownership of the problem — not an endless cycle of emails saying someone is being located. Another major concern is data ownership and flow. We use Ramp extensively for corporate card and travel-and-expense data, and we learned that Navan's integration with Ramp depends on using a Ramp payment method. That creates a potentially significant gap in where travel data lives if employees use other payment methods. For a company that has years of historical T&E data in Ramp and wants consistent reporting and a single source of truth, this is a serious consideration that I don't think was made sufficiently clear upfront. These aren't just minor configuration annoyances. They affect the underlying accounting workflow, data integrity, reporting, and our ability to maintain a consistent system of record. The most frustrating part is that we went into this expecting an enterprise-grade product with enterprise-grade implementation and support. Instead, when we encountered a significant technical problem, we were left chasing Navan for help while they tried to find someone internally who could actually address it. I would not recommend signing up without first testing the integrations you depend on and getting very specific answers about who supports them when something breaks. Before committing, I would specifically ask Navan: * Who owns support when the NetSuite integration fails? * Is there a dedicated NetSuite integration specialist? * Can the NetSuite integration actually be completely reset and reconfigured? * What happens if the integration needs a new certificate? * Where does travel data live when a booking isn't paid with an integrated payment method (ie Navan payment method)? * What is the actual escalation process when first-line support cannot resolve an integration issue?

My company uses a customized drop down list for expenses and it doesn't always display. Also I've uploaded receipts to expenses and when it gets reviewed it's no longer there.

I booked a hotel through Navan for four people—two adults and two children at an initial price of €1,026. However, when we arrived, the hotel informed me that Navan had made the reservation for only one adult. The hotel therefore refused to provide us with the room unless I paid approximately €1,600. I contacted Navan immediately, and they claimed they had tried to contact the hotel to arrange coverage of the additional costs. However, nothing was resolved, and I was forced to pay the extra amount myself. Check in was at 15:00 but we only managed to check in to our Room after 18:30 after I paid 1600 EUR. To make matters worse, when we finally entered the room, it was suitable for only two people, despite the fact that I had clearly booked and paid for four. I provided Navan with evidence confirming that my original booking was for two adults and two children. Since 17 August, I have repeatedly contacted Navan, but nobody has properly followed up with me or taken responsibility for resolving the issue. They have never contacted me about refunding the additional money I was forced to pay or even mentioned the possibility of a refund. Every time I contact them, I am passed to another representative and have to explain the entire situation again. Navan’s mistake caused unnecessary stress throughout our holiday and left me significantly out of pocket. Their lack of communication, accountability, and customer support has been completely unacceptable.

If you need to engage with their travel team, they are awful. My direct flight from Las Vegas to Manchester got cancelled. They ‘automatically’ rearranged to a flight with an overnight stay in Paris (but with no hotel booked). Called the Navan travel care team and I spent over 5 hours on the phone with them (mainly whilst being on hold) to rearrange so i was on the same flight as my colleagues via London (which didnt require an overnight stay). They sent me the flight details to london and by this time i needed to board the flight, but they said that will book me on a connecting flight London to Manchester so by the time i land in london they said i will have those flight details. Landed in London and of course no flight details for the connecting flight. Called them and their answer was because I was calling them so long after my original flight got cancelled this no longer qualified as rebooking of a cancelled flight so I needed to go on their travel portal and book a new flight…. I just walked up to BAs desk and bought my ticket directly with them rather than trying to use Navan Not only absolutely awful service, also completely incompetent staff
