Terrible customer service! My water pump is malfunctioning and my plants are dying. But customer service is only available by email and have not responded with a solution. The gardyn is great until something goes wrong. Then it's a very expensive planter with rotting plants.

I love my gardyn its the best purchase I've made in a long time also they have the best customer service and I dont say that about alot of companies but they are so friendly and get back to you right away with any problems you are having and helpful advice. 10 out of 10 would definitely buy again. Honestly wish I had space for a second one cause I would probably buy a second.

I love my Gardyn we’re 3 months in and enjoying multiple salads a week from it. Tomatoes and peppers are flowering and I have a couple of green tomatoes ripening. It’s exciting to go look at it every morning and see how things have grown. We are finding new ways to cook and use our herbs. Made homemade mint ice cream with mint we had growing, so yummy! If you keep up with it cleanings are easy. I do it every 2 weeks because I have strawberries growing. Using a waterpik to blast away algae in each cup area and wipe rinse out basin it’s very easy and pretty quick. They are responsive if you have a question. The subscription is nice especially when starting out but it’s also totally possible to do it without if you want to. It also looks very nice and takes up so little space!

A shout out to the people at Gardyn. My Gardyn became overrun with pests. After battling white flies and aphids for a month I decided to just start over. We had three months of good produce. This infestation was a result of Gardyn living in our greenhouse and me not keeping a constant eye on it. I performed a deep clean and had Gardyn sitting on the patio drying. We had an extremely severe windstorm. The windstorm knocked Gardyn over and broke a bunch of parts. I thought my error, hopefully I can order replacement parts. I contacted support, sent pictures of the damaged parts, and two days later the broken parts arrived free of charge. Wow, what great customer service! Anyhow, we are back up and growing veggies. Thank you to the support team at Gardyn!

Don’t waste your money. This company is not ready for prime time. There is absolutely no costumer support. Always be wary when a company doesn’t provide a phone number to resolve issues. They pushed a firmare update to the unit that clearly wasn’t tested and now my system is “bricked”. No lights, no water, lots of dead plants. The only response I received was an auto generated email that couldn’t resolve the problem. I’ve spent all day cleaning up the mess of dead plants left behind.

Horrendous start to finish. So many other hydroponic options without the hassle. First of all a piece arrived broken and took over a month for them to replace. 2nd, assembly is confusing and difficult and the pieces don't match properly 3rd, requires a SEPARATE 2g connection that is not specified when purchasing, most networks are 5g with 2g built in which is not compatible and they want you to buy a separate piece to make your wifi compatible 4th, you have to download an app to make it work and then pay for it after free trial, the lights are BLINDING this is not good for anyone with a studio apartment which one of the description/faqs says it is, I still can't connect to the internet and not buying any more accessories so this product is now useless to me, going to hope to resell for not too much of a loss

I’ve had my Gardyn for 3 mo’s now, after doing much research of several other vertical systems. I also have Aerogarden Farm & Bounty models, but I wanted a larger capacity growing system. So in comparison here are my opinions: If you only want to grow small herbs & greens, and don’t mind taking it all apart for cleaning, and not having move able lights or a manual override for the unit then go for it. For use with larger plants, you need cap-off several openings for proper growth. Which greatly reduces the capacity. I also added an aquarium pump to keep the water oxygenated. So for the $$$ cost, maintenance, etc; for me it was a not a good purchase. I have found my Aerogardens to have just as much capacity, easier to clean, doesn’t require an app to function and grows much healthier plants. Just for background info, I’m in my 60’s, and I have a BS in horticulture.

I have had nothing but problems with mine since the day I got it. I was sent a replacement top unit in February when the water pump quit working and all my plants died. It worked for a while and then I got a notice that they were doing a system update. My system hasn't been able to connect to the internet since and when the gardyn won't connect to the internet and won't re-pair (which happens frequently)- you cannot control the lights or watering. Customer service keeps saying that the unit will continue to have preset water and lights schedule, and sometimes that is true, but not this time. I came down to find the lights on at 3am and the pump quit watering the plants. Customer service told me to open up the top and manually dump water over the plants. This just ends up being a pretty expensive piece of PVC pipe, not the automated system they advertised. Every person I have communicated with has kept making excuses, saying "this should not happen" and blaming other parts of their "team". Now they claim that my system is trying to connect to some unknown network that is not visible in my house even though I never entered this network name or password into the app. I don't know why it is my responsibility to keep troubleshooting a product that doesn't work. I've asked them to provide a working unit or a refund. I'm also out 60 plants at $5 a piece from the two system failures plus the full price of the unit. This doesn't count the large number of pods that failed to germinate or pods that molded when the system actually worked. The resolution they have offered is 30 replacement plants. What good is it to get half the plants replaced when I don't have a working unit? And why half? Customer service is absolutely terrible. The company sounds like it is run by a couple of college kids who are in way over their heads and can't figure out their own tech. My advice is obviously not to buy this. If you are stuck with it and are considering ways to make it more cost effective, consider taking the nutrients they sell to your local hydroponic store. I did and they were very quickly able to identify a popular commercial brand in their store with the exact same ingredients in the exact same percentages. In conclusion, the two units I have received were not functional, and I am now faced with scrapping and it selling the parts to other people with broken units or salvaging pieces and re-designing a system that actually won't quit working every couple of months. I am so disgusted with this company that I have now filed a BBB complaint.
