Today I set up my system. It was relatively easy. I am disappointed that there was no advisory about needing pod covers if I didn’t plant all of the plants in my starter kit. I also completed the first task; mostly informational and found out that I’m going to need pod caps to block light after I thin the seedlings. Two expensive purchases almost immediately. I’m hoping time will confirm that I made a good investment and that these additional purchases are worth it.

Overall, it’s a neat toy and seems to grow well. However, first impression is that 8 out of the full set of pods didn’t sprout after weeks. I was annoyed I had to spend over a hundred bucks to get their separate sprout set up because you can’t put them directly into the main system once food is added. Based on what you’re charging, any seeds purchased from you that fail should be speedily replaced at no cost.

I love everything about my growing experience and results. The device goes offline frequently. It needs to be paired again and again. I didn’t realize this was happening the first 2 months and I missed out on instructions. Now that I’ve been using it a while I don’t depend on instructions from the app. If it goes offline it doesn’t matter much. But it’s annoying.

We've had our Gardyn for about two years now and love it! I will say that some of our pods come and don't grow much before needing to be replaced but overall we have great harvests! Some things grow easier than others but for what we want to grow (lettuces, spinach, cucumbers, chives, chard, peppers, and tomatoes we are good and buying less plastic wrapped veggies at the store. We grow what we want and use what we grow... I was surprised about the reviews however and I do think their tech support team can use lots of help.. they are not great at responding and let the app do all of the talking.

3rd lid. Water sensor is a POS and is not replaceable, requires replacement of entire lid. Usually fails after 13 months once warranty expires. Edit 1/2. They called me today and offered to make it right with either a refurbished lid or a discount on the Gardyn 3.0. The customer service was excellent albeit it a bit reactionary to the review, nevertheless I am satisfied. My advice is not to buy the Gardyn 1.0, several items have been upgraded since that time that will likely fail on you. Go for the new one.

We love out Gardyn! only issue is 10 of the pods did not sprout.

Had a snafoo with a crimped hose inside keeping the unit from functioning properly for the first month. I am loving this system. I get so much joy watching this garden grow in my house. The plants are delicious. I have had a couple y-cubes that did not germinate. Otherwise this has been a wonderful experience. Looking forward to many harvests in the future.
