They're so much different than other companies we've used. They're more personal, they actually listen to customers, they seem to care more about service quality than money. One of the few companies that seems committed to actually caring.

Hey friend,
Glad to hear you're at least finding it functional. You're not wrong that we're a small business slowly transitioning from a customer base of Linux administrators to end users. We weren't built to hire a big development team, we were built to be affordable and functional. Not necessarily pretty. But as our customer base has shifted to wanting more of the pretty, we're adapting. But we're not adapting by increasing our prices and hiring, we're adapting slowly. I'd like to address a few of your points though:
> There is no auto-configuration or autodiscover
Correct. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to that. You're pretty much talking about Microsoft-exclusive features that have been adapted in various ways by other email clients.
> no option to create HTML signatures in the webmail
This was added to our new webmail on August 22, and has always been possible in your own email client (of which you can use basically any you desire)
> no way to link the webmail to your own domain
This was added on the release day for our new webmail, about 2 months ago. Details here: https://docs.mxroute.com/docs/branding/custom-webmail-branding.html
> anti-spam (which, in my case, never actually caught a single spam message)
It did, you just didn't see it. However many spam emails you received, you're welcome for how many you didn't.
> I don't see what else they could be working on
It's hard to keep everyone up to date when you're transitioning a service into something that wasn't built for end users to something that is, without constantly bothering people. In the new webmail if you click "Feedback" there's a "What's new" link on that little popup, and it'll tell you when we add things to the new webmail. You can follow larger project development on our docs.mxroute.com site. For example, these are the big ticket items we're working on right now: https://docs.mxroute.com/docs/changelog/mxroute-4.1.html
> I haven't seen a single new feature, change, or anything else
Then I hope I've informed you of how to keep up with them.
Anyway, thanks for the review <3

New customer, very satisfied.
I'm a new customer running a small mail service. I've been a customer for a few months. Extremely satisfied with the service. I very much appreciate their fundamentally different approach to spam management.
The quality of service far exceeds the service from various email host providers I've been using over past 20 years and for a fraction of the cost.
The tools for admin are no nonsense and just work.

Excellent service
Been a happy customer with MXroute for 6 years now. Incredible service with a great team. I've had two incidents where an email account was suspended. I opened a ticket in both cases and explained what happened (it was an issue on my end in both cases). The team was kind and understanding and promptly resolved the issues in both instances. They rigorously protect the reputation and deliverability of their mail servers, and I'm quite happy with the results. Can't recommend Jarland, Albert, and the rest of the team highly enough.

I would give 1k stars.
I would give 1k stars.
If you are a genuine Email user and is looking for a mail service that is solid reliable, spam proof and fast as thunder, choose MXroute.
Not only does it reduce spam emails but also it fights against those trash retards. See the negative reviews from those dumb trash. Thanks to MXroute for the hardworking.
MXroute doesn't provide many functions like Exchange or Gmail. But it has all the fundamental features you would expect from other self hosting Email services. Although it doesn't work too well with Outlook(Outlook is basically a cloud service now so not MXroute's fault) and it blocks my login when I fetch too many emails at once(it has self-served page for removing the limit). I still recommend it to all genuine users.
Don't be scared by having your account suspended. This service is run by some real people who think and act reasonably. Those who did get banned deserve what they got. Do not send marketing Emails is the first thing they got told when they signed up. This is how MXroute ensure our genuine emails get delivered.

Fantastic mail service
Fantastic mail service. Nobody is going to work harder for your money. I really like how transparent and honest Mr. Jarland is in public communications, you know other services are dealing with problems under the covers but their public communication doesn't reflect it like MXroute does. This is a pretty technical service and not for a casual user as it requires the user configure their domain DMARC etc, but if you know what you are doing it just works and is a snap. Also nice to see it's under constant development and improvement.

Account closed with no clear explanation, no refund, then support went quiet*
Took out a one year plan with MXroute for multiple inboxes. Within a week the account was terminated for an alleged Terms of Service breach, but no specifics were given despite asking directly. Support said the issue had been notified beforehand, but the closure came the day after, over a weekend, while I was on holiday and unable to respond.
Asked for a refund given the account had barely been used. Refused outright, citing the ToS breach as justification, still with no detail on what the breach actually was. Communication then stopped entirely on their side, and wasn't allowed access to the account I was paying for, so there was no way to resolve this directly. Now going through the bank to dispute the charge.
If you're weighing this up against other providers, worth knowing that a cancelled account can mean losing the money with no real explanation and no route to challenge it.
PS You'll see he responds to all negative reviews the same way, by all accounts he is never wrong. It's the MX Route customer that's always in the wrong! Funny that.

I genuinely do not know what it is about TrustPilot that makes people believe the truth won't outlive their review. Certainly, I cannot be blamed for the fact that so many reviews are filled with lies, omissions, or intentional policy violations. One only needs to ask for the receipts to any review I've disputed, I keep them all. This one is no exception, I have more than enough data to inform your bank of the fraudulent claim you are about to make, and I'll still have it 16 years from now.
Before this customer could place a single order, he had to read and click "Yes, I Agree" to this:
"Email warmup services are a violation of our policies. They do not only do what they sell themselves to do, they torture our heavily curated IP reputation to draw heavy associations between our customers and blatant spammers. Do you agree not to use warmup services with our platform?"
He agreed. Then he connected his account to a cold email (spam by any reasonable definition) platform and started warming up. On July 11th he received this:
"The mentioned email or domain has been blocked from sending mail… Connecting your email account to a cold email platform where it's about to start using 'warmup' is a violation of our policies."
That is the "no explanation" he claims he never got, delivered alongside the logs he dismisses as "just code I don't understand." The code is a record of his own account misbehaving. Reading it was optional. So were the consequences of not reading it.
Now here's the part he carefully left out of his review: he didn't stop. On July 12th, the day after the warning, he stood up more accounts on additional domains and kept the warmup running. So the account was terminated, exactly as the Terms he agreed to say it will be.
His defense is that this all happened "over a weekend" while he was on holiday, as if IP reputation clocks out on Saturday. He wasn't too on-holiday to spend that same weekend spinning up fresh connections to a cold email (spam) platform to continue the exact violation we'd just warned him about. You don't get to be too on-holiday to read our emails but not too on-holiday to spend your Saturday fucking us over on new domains. We didn't force this customer to violate policy over the weekend, choices were made.
No notice? He was notified. No explanation? He was given logs and a written reason. No refund? Correct. We do not refund contracts cancelled for a Terms violation the customer agreed to avoid, was warned about, and then doubled down on. None of that is hidden. It's in the ToS he clicked to accept.
You can lead an illiterate man to text, but you cannot make him read it. The light at the end of the tunnel here is that James Fenner (the name publicly visible on this review at the time of this reply) has signed his name to his lack of integrity for everyone to see, for years to come. Hopefully, anyone looking to do business with him will find this in a Google search later.
