M&T just took over my mortgage and it has been very difficult to pay my mortgage! So hard that it seems like a scam to charge me fees! All they have to do is give my my mortgage account number, why didn't they send it to me in the mail?! I am on the border of being late on my mortgage - First they told me that I have to come in to a branch in person, but after explaining that they have no branches withing 2000 miles (!) they told me that I need a video appointment - so at two weeks late now trying to pay my mortgage... We'll see if it can be done!

If I could give them zero I would. Our mortgage got transferred to them. Our first payment went up $400 when nothing had changed. They said they received it like that but we have proof that that isn’t correct. They keep getting our county wrong as well. They say they’ll look into it. It’s been two weeks and still nothing. I am beyond frustrated with them. $400 extra each month adds up.

Worst Bank ever deposited money into the ATM machine froze now have been waiting three days. Supposedly I will get my money next week. What a joke.

M&T is the best bank I ever banked with. I’m nearing 70 years old so I’ve belonged to many banks in my life. I’ll sum it up. Even though I’m far from well off, basically living month to month on Social Security anytime I reached out to M&T for a variety of reasons I am treated like I’m the wealthiest customer they have. I really appreciate the customer respect and very patient and friendly customer service I am giving. Thank you M&T

WOW what a bunch of Bozos, first I'm talking to someone in another part of the world(not understandable)... asked to speak to rep in the USA. Then to make matters worse (after getting to rep based in USA)Michelle is not able to email "payoff" amt or as M&T calls it (pay to zero balance), glitch in the system. All as I can say they get triple thumbs down on any and all correspondence using the phone. What a waste of time!!!!!!!!

In an attempt to pay my loan off, it took 4 phone calls. 2 of the four phone calls I was not able to understand due to a language barrier and asked to be transferred to someone else and they said they did not have that option so I had to keep calling until I got someone I could understand. After paying my loan off they will not send me anything proving I paid the loan off!!! What!!! This is ridiculous! I gave the $12,000.00 and they will not give me a receipt. I will NEVER use this bank again. If you give a bank that much money and they refuse to give you a receipt, HUGE RED FLAG FOLKS!!!!!!

I have an existing FHA mortgage serviced by M&T Bank and am currently in Chapter 13 bankruptcy. I recently learned that approximately $1,950 in bankruptcy attorney fees/costs were charged or requested on my mortgage account. When I asked for a clear breakdown, the only document provided through M&T/SouthLaw was a one-page ledger. It listed vague entries such as “MFR fees” and “MFR costs,” but did not explain the specific attorney work performed, why the charges were assessed, invoice details, dates of legal work, or whether the fees were approved through the bankruptcy process. This happened during an extremely difficult financial period while I am unemployed and trying to keep up with my mortgage and household expenses. In my opinion, M&T should not be charging or requesting large bankruptcy attorney fees without clear, itemized, verifiable documentation. I would strongly caution mortgage customers to review every fee and demand proof for any legal charges added to their account.

Completely incompetent! Waited over 6 weeks for my car title after my loan was paid off. Made multiple phone calls requesting the title. I was told repeatedly it was being mailed only to find out it never was mailed and never would be. It was electronically released a month prior. No one we talked to gave us this information. They repeatedly lied to us saying they could "see" it was mailed out.
